Kop (and others), what happens if they finally DO put in all the scripts and cheats until everything is mathematically prefect and done for you so all you have to do is push a button and produce little carbon copy dots that everyone else is also doing? I am ALL for stuff that makes GLB MUCH LESS time consuming for all aspects of gamers from dot builders to multiple team owners... but I am even more on board with Myd and Greywolf in doing EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to keep as much randomness/personal touch in the game as humanly possible. I have played other MUCKS, MUDDS, and MMORPG's that fall prey to this very thing... a complete lack of "personality"... where, once everybody figures out there's really only 1 good way to do something, then that's all anybody does and the game basically suffocates from stagnation. Please understand I'm not raggin on you, ProKop... I just enjoy the game and don't really wanna see it kill itself off.
1. Have you ever created dots with VPB? If you have you know how hard it is to duplicate a build, even one you just did 2 minutes ago.
2. A build created in VPB is EXACTLY as individual and random as one created manually over time.
3. Based on your argument the game is already doomed, since you all fear 'cookie cutter builds of the exact same ultimate dot'. Been playing GLB a long time, and fyi the game already works that way. In general the same builds work, and the same ones don't, give or take the seasonal tweaks thrown in by Bort & Co. Hard Hitter types still suck unless you want to rack up meaningless stats playing on Kick/Punt coverage against crappy teams. If one type of build dominates the game then that is an issue within the game - not how dots get built.
I do see where there might be an issue with certain agents or teams trying to use this in a way that would be an exploit. That would need to be addressed. But for all we know there might be a select few that already do this to some extent. How do we know? If you can't stamp out the ability for agents or teams to gain unfair advantage by using tools not available to everyone, the only solution is to make those tools available to everyone.
