Do I boost him this year? Or do I wait until like lvl 23 or whatever to boost to 25?

I'm not sure what to do.

Boost him 3 times around day 47 of this season so you can get some more training in before you boost. Then next season hits and you wait til you hit level 22 to boost to level 25 so you can start accumulating VA's.

I think the OP may not realize that every season you get 3 more boosts that you can buy. Just adding that tidbit to whodey's response, in case that was part of the confusion.

3 more boosts that I can buy? So you're saying when I boost my guy 3 times, I can purchase 3 more boosts somehow?

Ah, are you talking about a free player? If so, then every season you get 3 free boosts.

So if it were a standard player (not free) you can boost them 6 times a year?

No, you can only boost 3 times per season regardless. If it were a standard player, you would have to buy every boost using flex points, which are purchased with cash.

You get 3 boosts per dot per season.
