it says it works only on defense, does that mean it won't fire on special teams? kickoff and punt coverage ?

Question: Does Never give up work on all sides of special teams including kickoff coverage and kick returns, punt coverage and punt returns?
Answer: It works on anyone who has fallen down, anywhere, to make them get up faster. That doesn't include fakes, though! Fakes are a different mechanics

Answer: Never give up applies to any fall down, such as pancakes, missed tackles, cut blocked, falling down when catching a pass, etc. Fakes are not actually the player falling down; it's just a similar animation, and as such it does not apply.

I would say that this means it should affect any player and that perhaps the text is just a little misleading. Might need to move the VA out of defense and into general but typically it's the people chasing the ball carrier that are most interested in getting back up after being knocked down.
