That one's easy. You can get a PD on a ball that's caught.
People confuse the NFL PD stat with the GLB PD stat.
In the NFL, it stands for passes defensed, in GLB, it's passes deflected.

Golan's example is a little harder to reconcile, but LB's and S's tend to jet in late and get deflections on plays where they're not charged as being targeted

The other reason is it gives you a reception allowed on screen plays sometimes even though no one is currently covering the guy. You weren't targeted but allowed the receiver to catch it anyway. Should have used the force

The main point was that he was targeted 2 times and allowed 3 receptions. That's bullshit. I know how it works, the target gets assigned different from the rec allowed, but essentially all these stats are meaningless in their current form. There are tons of ways you can get either an extra target or rec allowed and the sim DOESN'T EVEN TELL YOU on which plays.

To use an example of someone else who wanted to compare corners, the LB made a play on 300% of his targets There are plenty of other examples like that with corners too.

He did, but that isn't why the stat line looks like it does. With 5 targets, 4 rec allowed, 3 PD, there would have to be TWO PD's caught. There wasn't. Looking at the top replays from the dot, there are only 4 plays: 2 PD's incomplete, 1 PD caught and one tackle. That accounts for the PD's and possibly 4 targets and 2 rec's allowed. Somewhere, somehow the dot got an extra target and 2 rec's allowed. It's fking impossible to see where unless you go through all the replays. Even then it's guesswork. Horrible, useless stats.

I know zone interferes with the stats. I saw my FS have 22 targetted, 2 recalw and 27 pd... But for man-to-man it actually is somewhat realistic and the values look correct...

I've got a LB with 0 targets, 4 rec allowed and 11 PDs for the season. I've pretty much decided these stats mean nothing.

The stats are definitely less than useful.
Multiple dots get charged with a target, and Rec on the same pass. LB's nowhere near the play get the RecAlw on screens.

All you have to do is look at this box score http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=2082642, to realize that after about 10 passes it's almost impossible to figure out what actually happened.

2/3 passing, but 5 targets, and 3 RecAlw.
