Team is in the playoffs and the owner, understandably, wants players to boost. I just wanted to know, is there any negative long term effect, to my players, in boosting now rather then waiting until the last day?

It affects training percentages mainly. It's a small difference, its definitely not a build killer, all in its own, but some peoples dots are maximizing every little gain possible. It comes down to, how important is a rookie gif.

If you plan to stay with team you are on and your owner wants you to boost than you should boost. If you think your team has a legit chance at winning than go ahead and boost. If you know for a fact you have no chance than wait til the end of the season.
A good portion of GLB boosts at playoffs.

In rookie season I like to boost once to level 16 if a team I play for makes playoffs. That gives an EQ upgrade. Then if team makes the conference championship I boost the other 2 , otherwise wait until day 47.
Second season I have already boosted from lvl 22-25
Third season there is a good chance I have already boosted, otherwise I will for playoffs. Pretty much sums up remainder of my dots careers.

Boosting to win a trophy in Rookie league is like boosting to win one in the D-leagues. Your 1st season should be all about giving your player the best possible platform to build from - let the coordinators deal with winning that trophy.

and see that my dots have won 39 championships and 114 silver gifs. Not saying I am the best, but my methods have gotten me some wins (and not at rookie level either, dont think I have ever won there, but still I attempt to give the team's I play for the best chance my dots can while still doing my best to build good for end game)
Boosting once on day 32 aint gonna hurt your end build at all in the grand scheme, but that extra +4 to attributes may be just what your team needs to push past round one. Boosting the other 2 times on day 37 instead of day 47 also isnt going to cripple a build (if your team makes CC game)
being a team player makes you a winner every time !

If a team is 10-6, they have already been outcoordinated on multiple occasions already - asking players to boost to "try" to win the whole salami is only gonna short-change the player and the team going forward.
The team loses nothing when they get knocked out, the 55 players on the roster ALL take hits from early boosting. That alone should be enough to make even a die-hard team oriented owner take pause and really question what is best for the "team".
All that said, I can understand boosting for a championship game - it's a one off between two teams with good coordinators where the players can actually be the deciding factor.
