player has 89 and -29 in decline .... so he has 60 for the attribute

if you add a SP to make it 90 then decline just moves to -30 .... so it's still 60 for the att. and hence a waste of a SP? and if so jus basically concentrate on adding SPs to special abilities in decline?

True, you are basically adding points that are being deducted, thus losing the points you're adding.

Not useless but you won't be able to keep up with the decline rate for too long.

However there is a maximum amount of decline a player can reach (75%) so that basically what happens if for every point you put into an attribute, you get .25 of that. So you would need to put 4 points (at max decline) into an attribute to get a 1 point increase overall.

I think it's a moot point. You shouldn't be adding SP's during decline, with the exception perhaps of values that aren't 2/1 capped. The reason is you're not gaining any ALG's from the stat increase and you're working against the % based penalty system. All your points in stats should have been finished a long time ago.

Yea, just emphasis SA's.

Either that or just use the temp boosts.

Wont help in the playoffs but it will give your guy a last hurrah in the regular season.
