this won't work.
if you're holding in players to block, it either results in more blitzers or more dots in coverage. One causes the pressure to still get there right away. The other causes the QB to hold the ball for longer and allow the pressure to get there eventually.

And in conclusion, the offense is fucked no matter what. I don't want to hear anymore DC's bitching now. Just blitz everything ya got - it's not like screens work anyways!

Yeah, this seems to mostly be the case - I've been trying it, especially on long downs.
And since the guys I am holding back are often not very good blockers it can make matters even worse.
Still in some situations holding the FB or TE is better than nothing.

Therein lies the problem though... personnel. GLB is now all about effective levels. What ever happened to underdogs putting in hard work, strategy, and game-planning to overcome tougher adversaries? DC's started moaning and then Bort added the spam penalty, defenders making adjustments on-the-fly, nerfs to screens, the list goes on. Furthermore, with the effect to hurries clearly throwing QB's accuracy off, a good DC doesn't even have to get to the QB. If they get in the QB's vicinity, it's mission accomplished.

You're absolutely right. Defending dots can adjust on-the-fly, so if the dot isn't sent on a route, the defender can switch to a blitz. This is seen time and time again when the dot creeps forward after the QB, sees a route, stops, then follows his man. So as an OC, it's like pick your poison.
What's worse, if you hold a receiving TE back to block, there's a high chance he gets pancaked, compromising his morale. Unfortunately, there's no way for an OC to audible out this TE for a stronger one using the "hold back TE" option.

I won't lie that upsets are much less common under the current GLB sim. But all you need is a blocking FB and that fixes a lot of issues. The use of Blocking Back VA also does wonders.

I am not sure what you are arguing about...this certainly is not a DC dominated sim right now.

I have been thinking of toying with the agressive slider on the QB to try and get out of some coverage sacks. Would that work? Worth it?
