Grant an additional power to Owners/HC/OC/DCs to gift to dots on their team/squad reset points during a season. Say each off day of a season each team would get X VA reset points to allocate. The Owner could use all X if he chose, a Head Coach could allocate 1/2X, and each Cordinator would get 1/4X. Call X 8 every off day (non-game day, Days 1, 3, 5 in Nat pro for example) but the exact number is debatable, could be 4, could be 16 or 20 or whatever. These would not accumlate but would dissapear on the roll over to the next off day (so they could be assigned on the offday or the following game day). Arguably the level of VA Reset points per team would vary by league with more at Pro levels and of course none at pre-VA age leagues.
The coach would assign these in the roster window using a drag down of some sort. Or however seems best. But the routine would be select a dot and select how many Reset Points to give him out of the X available to that Owner/GM.
The player could then use the reset to change his VAs or not as he saw fit in the same way we use the Pre-season reset points (ie you remove an existing VA point and then can re-spend it). Presumably the coach would shoot him a PM with suggested changes that prompted the assignment, but the dot would not be bound to do so.
The dot owner would have some short period of time to use the reset points. Perhaps by the next off day roll over, or Day 40 or whatever seems to be a good balance of not too powerful yet not so short as to be useless.
The purpose of the idea is to
1) Let Dots adjust their VAs during a season to reflect coaching's desires for new strategies.
2) More coach-player interactions to promote social/team play, both in assigning the VAs but also in discussing/asking for changes in forum chat etc.
3) Give dot owners more things to do during the season, particularly at Booring plateau levels.
