General concept - not all that bad. I'm generally in favor of more complexity and less cookie-cutter. Personalities are a realistic thing to add.
However, the specifics of the suggestion aren't good - the choices listed would not be balanced at all.
Also, I agree with some others that there are more important things for now. Keep adding more depth, but make it all work first.

The details are supposed to be a discussion starter. If you think something is unbalanced or prefer another method, put it out there.
