that + adding "run" to the target projection. Possibly with a tactic for how aggressive you want to be toward running such as:

-If you think you can get the first
-If you think you can get 3+ yards (overrides to first down marker on 3rd down)
-If you think you can get past the line of scrimmage
-Always
-Never

type thing

Exactly, or even a slider - throw away if all covered on one end, run on the other.

+1 as long as you give CBs more ability in the sim
like press
favoring the inside pass then auto deflect it yet can get beat deep easy and stuff like that

What about play action, I'm sure that's been suggested. And needs to be implemented at least. I want to run a mine shsnahab offense. Cut blocks and roll outs

take out play focus and play action could work effectively

I would like to see this combined with a "containment" rush, which would be similar to a very aggressive flats zone etc

I could see that.

It would only be fair to offer the defense that ability, but I still think the current defensive structure offers options that could be used to address it effectively.

In the end, the success of the roll out should depend on whether the defenders will decide to stick with their coverage assignments, when they decide to break off coverage and come after the QB, whether or not the QB can make good decisions to run for it or attempt a pass, his ability to select and hit his receivers, and how the play is defended.

We already have On the Run SA for QB's, but since no one can control if their QB will scramble it doesn't make much sense to invest in it (or in passing in general for that matter). By adding rollout pass/run option plays you could really make that whole SA tree valid again.
