This is because they contact support and they change it for them. This suggestion would take a bit of work of support so they could focus on other things and it would allow owners to have a bit more freedom.

Support will do it for you right now, just have to wait a few days usually. Don't really see what the problem with the current system is....

my only concern: since it seems to requires a human at Support to process it manually that it will take resources away from whatever it is they should be doing otherwise... so there should be some kind of limit to it... plus making it difficult to change the name theoretically will keep people from giving teams stupid names.
