1.Oklahoma City Spartans 8-0-0
Last week: 1 High: 1 Low:1
What to say….. Apparently OKC decided to play basketball while Boston played soccer. 117-0… Sweet Fancy Moses. A confident San Jose defence may be in for a rude awakening.
2. Los Angeles Reign 8-0-0
Last week: 2 High:2 Low:6
Handily beat a Reno team that is looking like a shadow of its former self. LA’s defence was dominant again but their offense was nothing great, getting most of their points on field goals. Look for the offense to take revenge against OKC Outlaws next week.
3. Over The Rhine Red Dots 6-2-0
Last week:5 High: 3 Low:9
OTR has returned to glory. Incredible game against Little Haiti was as close as you could play it. The stats were damn near identical with the winning points coming of a 50 yd FG. Wins in their next three against soft opponents will solidify their playoff berth.
4. San Jose Chupacabra 6-2-0
Last week: 4 High:4 Low:13
Beating the Outlaws does just enough to keep San Jose stable at 4. They roll into a game against the Spartans on a 6 game win streak…but the seventh looks like a long shot.
5. Little Haiti Voodoo 5-3-0
Last week: 3 High:3 Low:10
Played OTR in a nail biter and lost by just 3. That is what a game between two elite teams should look like. The Voodoo are well positioned for the playoffs with a relatively soft schedule here on in.
6. Florida Bulls 5-3-0
Last week: 7 High: 5 Low:9
Make it three in a row for the Bulls. One wonders if they should have been more dominant against a hard luck Bastards team. The offense is explosive but inconsistent and the defence gives up more than it should. On the upside for the Bulls, Drill Bit Taylor leads the conference in receiving yards…which he’s been talking about since the preseason.
7. South Otto Fragile Porcelain Mice 4-4-0
Last week: 8 High: 6 Low:9
Nice performance on both sides of the ball as they took it to Minnesota. The Mice play everyone tough and their record probably doesn’t reflect how good they actually are. Nonetheless, they need a solid second half for a playoff run.
8. Fresno Fire 5-3-0
Last week: 6 High:3 Low:8
Dropping three in a row is bad…. Dropping to Vallonia is even worse. Lost a FG kicking contest in a pretty hum-drum defensive affair. On the bright side, the Fire will break their losing ways next week as they get the sacrificial lamb that is Boston.
9. Reno Marauders 4-4-0
Last week: 9 High: 2 Low:9
They didn’t put up much of a fight against highly ranked LA. T Demon and the rest of the Marauders offense needs to wake up and put some points on the board.
10. Vallonia BeaverHunters 3-5-0
Last week: 10 High: 10 Low:16
Big upset win against Fresno poises the BeaverHunters for a second half run. They need another upset against Little Haiti next week to keep playoff hopes alive.
11. Colorado Springs Flyers 3-5-0
Last week: 11 High: 3 Low:12
Managed to get back in the win column versus a suddenly surging Minden. It’s a victory but I don’t think many Flyers are looking at playoffs and their ownership has to figure how to rebuild this team.
12. Minden Musketeers 2-6-0
Last week: 11 High: 11 Low:15
I think people would have started to wonder if they were dreaming had Minden won three straight. Congrats to Chris Lightning for passing the 20 INT plateau. When Minden looks at where to improve next year, they should look behind center first.
13 . Bay Area Bastards 2-6-0
Last week: 13 High: 10 Low:13
Holy wrath continues to rain down upon the Bastards…this time in the form of the Florida Bulls. No real relief in sight for this hard luck team. Unless they’re allowed to play Boston AGAIN. Don’t know where these guys went wrong this year as their team is more than decent.
14. Minnesota Americans 1-7-0
Last week: 14 High: 10 Low:15
Still zero points…. That means they have to score 14 in their next two… Maybe I should have said 7.
15. Oklahoma City Outlaws 1-7-0
Last week:15 High:8 Low:16
The sanity of many was saved by the Outlaws getting back in the L column where they belong.
16. Boston Boogie Monsters 1-6-0
Last week: 16 High: 12 Low:16
117??? Ahem….. Worst….team….ever.
