Super Vision is going to 7 and Strength to 86.
Thoughts?

leave strength, add cd and sv to 8 minimum.
i would sell you custom and put it in the other tree and only go with 1 FF aeq and add a piece of closing speed and a deflect ball piece.

You've set your dot up to suck in pass defense...

edit: nevertheless, well built.

Specialization is for bugs...

This is what my first go at it looked like.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1795016&playoffs=0

the lvl 74 is my 2nd gen.

My 3rd Gen HH's are all using the combo archetype, and will have more agility, CD, SV, and jumping than these two. A lot less tackling, slightly more strength, and similar vision and speed as the lvl 74.

If I was to make a 4th gen it'd be along the lines of
96 strength
93 speed
84 tackling
82 agility
81 vision

With CD and SV at 8, and monster hit at 11.
I just wish I had thought to go Strength first on all of these guys, with the Textbook tackler VA there is no reason whatsoever to have tackling past 82-84 at end build. I feel bad for all of the people I advised to go Tackling first on a HH, but thems the breaks I suppose.

Do you think it's possible then to make a proficient FF dot on the secondary who is also adequate at pass defense?
I assumed 80 vision and agility were enough end-build to not be terrible in coverage, especially with CD and SV sprinkled on top. What would a HH who is good in covrage look like to you bug03? Would you mind taking some time to show me a rough build outline for end values? Or an example of such? I'd love to see it.

You could say I'm a fan. Some people are, some aren't, but one day I'm going to find the right combination of:
vision, superior vision, speed, agility, first step, change direction, closing speed and tackling that there will never be a complete pass against me again.

I would absolutely go tacking first on the dot you're trying to build. To force a fumble you have to roll high enough on the initial make tackle roll to get the chance to roll the force fumble roll. I don't know about you, but I would guess if you rolled extremely high every time you have more opportunity to roll for a FF. Seems to me like finding the right balance between the two is important but tackling weighs heavier in my opinion. Speaking of weight, weight matters too, as well as speed/momentum.

I linked my SS above and if I didn't, check my homepage. My ss has something close to 100 natural speed and will end up around 160 end build. Yes, he'll be lacking some strength, but at 61 str 80+ tackling, his speed is going to cause fumbles and KLs, count on it.

As far as optimal build, follow what I said in my first post ITT and put your dot on my defense for s28 and I'll show you some shit.

I wasn't talking about generic coverage builds. I have some coverage secondary dots as well, and I know how to build them.
I was referring to HH's who can play coverage as well, none of the dots you've shown me had a very good FF to tackle attempt ratio. They're good dots no doubt, but I'm trying tobuild actual hard hitters. I don't think 60 strength cuts it at all in relation to HH builds.

I understand that having a high initial make tackle roll is very important, which is why I made the dot I posted in OP. I firmly believed that going tackling first and having 104 tackling with Textbook Tackler at end build would make the dot more efficient at Forcing Fumbles. But over the life-time of the dot I've found that there is a ceiling of sorts where an added point in tackling is doing less and less good towards unlocking the FF roll after a successful tackle attempt. I believe that ~90 tackling would be this spot. And I understand that most of those findings are based on pre-APD dots, and I would be willing to admit that the new sweet spot may be pushed up to ~95. But I'm willing to take a hit to tackling to bring strength up. Because Tackling only goes so far, it only really plays a major part in unlocking the FF roll. Passing the FF roll however leans heavily on strength. So if you're trying to pass the FF roll and force a fumble I'd rather drop more strength into a dot than tackling.

So with that, I thank you for your offer, but regretfully decline, both dots are already committed to teams whose owners I respect, and I will most definitely be putting those SP's toward Strength as I firmly believe it will increase my FF rate per Tackle attempt more than anything else, which is ultimately what I'm trying to do with this dot.
