As for the suggestion... seems like a lot of work for no real gain...

I liked the direction when we still had money in the game (and yes it failed big time.. but the IDEA was ok)... to give each player personality that could influence his ability to be a locker room cancer, all around good guy, etc.. and that would affect what he would do on the field...

Not sure that was the exact idea.. but that was how I understood it, and thought.. WOW! That would be pretty cool...

Somehow I don't see Sanchez getting a morale boost.. if he's unhappy and says a few negative things here and there during the season.. it may not divide the locker room but it won't help the team overall as the fans and media latch onto any controversy..

Sanchez moving to a new team is a morale boost though for both parties incoming and outgoing.

GLB has it backwards, all players being added to a team better makes them better and add to depth which is so important to succeeding in this sim, why is it a negative thing when good free agents help teams become contenders?

Think about it this way. If Manning has been with the Jets for three straight years he would be more consistent with the coaches and other players than if he signs with them this offseason.

thats what GLB chemistry is.

I had an idea along those lines as have others. Would be cool.

That would be better to be sure.

This would just be easier.

Seriously yello, this suggestion seems like a dog chasing it's own tail. As Apallyon posted, a lot of work for very little.

Simple. Rex Ryan would once again declare them Super Bowl winners. Media frenzy ensues. Then Santonio Holmes will complain he isn't getting the ball enough. Media frenzy ensues. Then Darrelle Revis will once again regress as a player. Media frenzy ensues. Then Plaxico will declare that the team is just the team and the plays are just the plays. Media frenzy ensues. Then Manning takes them to the conference championship but the bunch of babies that Rex has coddled all season don't bring their A game and get sent home packing. Media frenzy ensues, Peyton retires under a giant black cloud.

Now that is how it would play out in the NFL. GLB however is different from the NFL so chemistry is a method of keeping teams from making wholesale changes to personnel without penalty. Without the penalties to chemistry which currently exist teams could basically call up an entire new set of players and seamlessly run through leagues without any way to curb it. GLB hit on a decent formula by penalizing teams for those sorts of shenanigans by instituting a chemistry penalty. The OP should be thankful that these penalties exist because if they didn't his teams would actually take an even bigger beating than they already do at the hands of the most well connected and best run networks.

I don't see how thats possible since the entire concept of it is to make it better for the "normal" teams.

One Agent Teams don't have to worry about chemistry nearly as often.
