That way if we get -1 x10 out of the gun, it moves along.

Might even add a modification that if a person gets 3 threads locked in a week they get a 24 hour ban?

Also, SIAP

already been suggested to some extent.

I like the Karma Idea but not the getting banned thing. to many childish people that would just lock threads to just mess with people

The karma system is currently being tested in FFA/TT/GD with the idea being that it could be added everywhere once the kinks are out of it. That is my understanding anyways.

This. This suggestion has been posted at least 5 times already. Tbph, I don't see why they don't go ahead and do it apart from idiots that -1 on everything.

that is why they do not do it. I know in FFA that everytime a certain person posts the whole group goes through and locks the threads. I think that is the biggest drawback to the whole system so far.

Makes sense. Mob Rule is bad when its mature adults deciding important issues. People goofing around on forums shouldn't be given any authority.

Heck half the time, this being as to all the internet forums I have seen not so much GLB that I have noticed, the users turned mods themselves often abuse their power when they get bent over someone or some issue personally. The kiddies in the crowd would just go nuts with it.

Agreed and why it will probably never happen outside of those forums already burdened with it.

I think it could be a very useful tool in this forum. not for locking threads but actually voting on them. instead of all of us posting a +1 or -1 we would vote on the suggestion by giving it a thumbs up or thumbs down. all it would essentially be in this forum is a vote counter.

certain number of locked threads should NEVER ban someone automatically, pretty much any scenario where someone gets banned without moderation or anything should never happen

The karma system is currently being tested in FFA/TT/GD and has failed miserably just as predicted by those with a grain of common sense.
