Actually I am paying this game to have upsets and headaches.
Normally the game owners can understand that this is not a good news for the game future.

We hall have various headaches and upsets courtesy of GLB. But from what I'm watching, this specific "contract extension" thing only seems to be affecting you. As mentioned before, when I've had dots on teams that were bought, my contracts were never extended. They just either ran out naturally or I released myself.

However, I've had cases where the new owner offered a contract extension which I usually turned down. It wasn't automatic though. Maybe you got an offer from the new guy and accepted it accidentally?

Nowdays, when a new owner acquire a team, all the human player that remmain receive one automatic contract extension without their approval.
In other words, if you do nothing you get a new contract without choice.

Please fix that, let the contracts flow normally without auto extension.
Or to make a contract extension request the player approval.

Best regards,
Fernando Schneider

ah this really did happen.

Madrid?

Yes?

what happened is the owner had long term contracts with the entire team. he sold the team unexpectedly and shortly afterwards some other dude bought it. So most agents didnt have time to eject while the team was CPU. It was a matter of a day.

so now theres a bunch of people stuck on a team that is not what they signed up for for another 2 seasons and sort of screwed. I think it would be nice if the team would reset and automatically release all the agents out of the old, long term conntracts.

Im p sure thats what the OP is saying.

Thats a huge difference between saying contracts were automatically extended.

Not really. There's nothing renewed really (at least in my interpretation of your interpretation) as its still the same multi-season contract. Its just a new owner. I don't see anything "automatic" about it. Assuming my interpretation of your interpretation is right, OP signed a multiyear contract... team got sold.. team got bought.. he missed or ignored the alert with the link to release himself... he missed the three day or so deadline to click on the link.. he is stuck with the remaining year or two left on the contract... he is sad.

WTF. Thats ridiculous.

Its not the same team, all the GMs left and half the roster is jacked up. it happened over a weekend to boot. Theres nothing reasonable in that.

@myd -- it happens when the team is bought on day 40 or 41; two of my players were caught in that situation. Following the release link in the alert took care of it, but it was extra hassle for two players that should have been free agents without additional action.

ETA: Yes, it's rare, but it happens.

I'm not saying its not the same situation as before. I'm saying that its the same contract. I'm saying that it was never automatically extended. Its the same contract he signed before. He chose to sign a multiyear deal. There are risks involved with that. I'm not saying he's wrong in wanting to escape from the contract.

A non-GLB scenario.. If I take out a loan from a creditor and that creditor sells my loan to another creditor when I have another year of payments remaining , I'm still responsible for that year of payments even if its going to someone new. Its not considered a new loan.

He took the multiyear contract. He had a chance to leave and apparently missed it. I just don't see how he's claiming it was "automatically extended".

Of course this is all based on how you and me both interpreted his post.

Now, if his suggestion was to automatically reduce multi-year contracts to single year contracts upon a new team owner, that would be different.

Support, really. But I had the means to handle it myself via the links in the alerts, so it didn't seem worth pursuing.

Did you follow the links in your alerts? Did you http://goallineblitz.com/game/support.pl? Nothing ever happens in Suggestions.
