The idea was to multitrain your top 3 attributes at 5 stars so you get between 90-107 naturals in all 3. Figured this would be especially useful on Offensive Lineman since you have less abilities that need high caps to be dominate.

It might be doable for some positions, but 5 stars wont really get you to those natural caps. I think of it this way, enhancing from 3 to 5 stars takes 54 BT, that is 5 less total quad trains you can do in your career. PER attribute! I find that more quad training provides better advantages then slightly higher percent training. Also you NEVER quad train past 103, it drops you down to 3%.

86 strength at lvl 19 would be 105 at lvl 79. That's only 3 more than having 79 at lvl 13. I guess I just need to get dots to that age and level, because I simply don't see what difference those 3 points will make.
It doesn't make a huge difference in actual performance, but does make a huge difference in EL, 3 points at that level is about 70 SP value. With .69 alg positions it comes down to wishing at the end of the career, when everything is already at a good point and you have SP to burn, that you had pumped a major up higher, because what could have turned into 3 throwing or vision is now wasted on sa's you might not need but have extra sp, or capping something else higher then it really needed just because you can.

I see your points. I guess I'm being conservative. While those 3 points might be really nice to have, I must admit I'm afraid of coming up short on an attribute that I need to have at a minimum in order to be really good. I really want to have the best QB in the game, but then I'm sure that's what a lot of builders want.

The main question is how great a benefit you'll see from those 54 BT for those 3 attributes. First off, you're trading the 1.3 bonus for quad training for a 1.2 bonus. Second, you can trade 15 BT for 1 SP. Personally I like making sure that I get at least 0.1 SP of value for each BT I use, or 1 SP for 10 BT. With that in mind I'm even being picky about which attributes I raise to x3.
The only way I'll raise an attribute to x4 is if I have A LOT of BT to burn, because at 24 BT I want to get at least 2 SP of value for raising that. Since I'm spending all my BT currently I won't be able to do that until later and by then it probably won't be worth it.
Here's the calculations for value at each level:
6 BT, or 0.4 SP: 1.1/1.0, or a 10% increase: Definitely worth it at any level!
12 BT, or 0.8 SP: 1.2/1.1, or a 9.1% increase: Definitely worth it.
18 BT, or 1.2 SP: 1.3/1.2, or a 8.3% increase: Usually worth it, make sure you'll be training this for a while.
24 BT, or 1.6 SP: 1.4/1.3, or a 7.6% increase: Worth it if you'll be training this for a long time.
30 BT, or 2.0 SP: 1.5/1.4, or a 7.1% increase: Could be worth it. Easiest way to tell is to calculate how many trains are needed to increase the attribute by 1 point for x4 and x5 and find the difference. Then divide the value for that point by the total number of trains needed to increase. That gives you the value of each train. Multiply the value by the difference. If the result is greater than 2 SP then it's worth it to raise from x4 to x5.
I would speculate that it's worth it for light training at the end of the career, when you're spending 2 entire seasons light training 1 attribute to gain BT. Until then, there are better ways to use BT.

Yeah, not quite as mathamatical in my head, but thats the same logic i use. I will typically in a 3 AEQ build , take one minor to 4 stars, or a very important major. Only if i know i will not be changing it off of training for almost 240 days.

Did not know about the 103 natural quad train drop. Will keep that in mind on future dots.
