I play LG and can not get a pancake to save my life. I will level up tonight. Where would you guys put the 5 SP. I gut tells me blocking, but I am wondering about agility, vision, or speed. Sometimes I play RG and will need the speed to pull, but it seems that it really does not matter how much speed the RG has, he can never get out their and make a block.

Should I commit to the pancake SA? Or should I consider that a glorified stat. I play against DT's that are alot higher level then I am, most of the time up to 5 levels so I get run around and over a lot.

Thanks for the help. Also I have 3 boost left, should I save them or just go ahead and commit to boosting to compete. I don't start, and get about 35-45 snaps per game.

use your boosts, and put your blocking to 50.

My first thought is to boost then I look at our team. We are not very good, so would waiting to boost gain me another level and help more next season, then we would be stronger and be able to make a run for the play-offs.

ya i agree bump blocking up first, i'd train speed and agility. maybe add some confidence if you're frequently overmatched. i'd wait to boost if you're a backup getting good PT.

Hes a LG - your thinking of RG

You need some speed and agility to explode off of the line and vision to see what the defender is doing. It's not all just strength for pancakes.

He's only level 12, I think he can hang tight on the speed and agi for awhile, especially at LG. He's got to get his blocking to 50 thats the big concern.

Since leveling up, I have him blocking up to 48.36. Did not get beat the last couple of games, but no pancakes. I know pancakes are not the be all and end for O-Linemen, but it would be nice to get one someday.

They may not be the be all and end all, but they are the most glamorous part of the OLine. I have a level 12 Guard with 60 pancakes in 9 games. I also have a level 16 guard with 19 pancakes in 9 games. The level 16 guard is a much better player, but plays against alot steeper competition. So the less talented player is much funner to watch. We dont get tds or sacks or int's - so the pancake is the best we have.

You'll get your pancakes. Your just playing stiff competition, you have a good build started. Now that you hit your 50 plateau its a good time to balance some of your other, less important needs.

yeah, for what it's worth, i have a L14 OT who is backing up two L21 OT's (playing both LOT and ROT). the D-linemen i am facing are typically btwn L18-L22. i am getting btwn 30-40 plays per game, and i can't remember the last time my guy gave up a sack. in two of the games, there was a very fast DE who each beat me around the end twice, but each of those times my QB got the ball off with plenty of time to spare. and my run blocking has frankly been flawless.

my point is not to say that my OT is so great, b/c i don't understand how he could be. my str/blk are both low 50's, i put a few too many SP into SA too early, and i still have a lot of gaps in my guy's profile...he is clearly not exceptional. my point is this: my guy has ZERO pancakes this season, but is consistently holding his own with guys 5-8 levels above him, and that is just AWESOME to watch. i know you're an OG, and you're probably expected to rack up some more pancakes at that position, and i'll also admit that if my guy had a few pancakes this year, i'd be quite pleased...but, my OT is a bench guy who's apparently providing a real service to his team, and for the moment, i'm finding that pretty satisfying. if your guy is protecting the QB and opening up some nice holes for the run game, who gives a shit if you have no pancakes.

Yes, I finally popped my cherry. Got my first one. It only took 64.03 strength and 50.03 blocking to get it.

;D
