Link

I thouht I already posted week 7, my luck I posted it in the wrong forum and just haven't realized it yet , so I apologize, but here is week 8.

For a short recap, the game of the week (I only had one for Zeta) was GCV vs. Komodo and it lived up to my write-up.

Oceania Pro League Week 8 Write-up

Middle of the Road Game of the Week

Tampa Bay Puganeers @ Easter Island Moai

Both TBP & EIM have been up and down all season with whether or not they can really contend against the 'big dogs'. I don't think either of them can, however, I absolutely believe that they'll be two of the top contenders next season, they need to do a bit of work in the recruiting dept. but they are quality teams with quality staff.

Balanced Game of the Week

Sunshine State Convicts @ Brantford Promnight Dumpster Babies

This is another situation where, in the scheme of things, both teams are irrelevant this season. They are probably pretty balanced..which is kind of sad, but the fact is one team in this game will lose, the other will win.. It probably doesn't matter which way it turns out, I expect it to be reasonably low scoring, probably lots of field goals in fact.

Compton Panthers @ Kona Gold

Neither of these teams have amounted to anything, but they are equally bad. They may just be fighting for the worst spot in Zeta. That's about all I can say about this one.

Upset Watch Game of the Week

Deadwood Mules @ Gold Coast Vipers

I've doubted DWM before, that's my mistake, this time, I'm not doing it. GCV is a great team and they can beat ANYONE in my opinion, but DWM, is going to wreak havoc against teams that underestimate them. DWM is definitely going to have to bring their A Game but even GCV knows this game could turn into an upset. I don't doubt GCV is going to be well prepared, but I think it'll be a very close game.

Up & Comer Game of the Week

San Diego Supa Chargers @ Melbourne Mighty Hawks

Both of these teams have earned my respect, they may not be shooting for major contention this year but they have shown a spark that, if they continue to improve, could really lead to something in Season 24. For the teams that know they'll be in OPL next season, these are a couple teams you may want to pay attention to.

Blowout Games of the Week

Syracuse Synergy @ Sumatra Seahawks
All Good Things @ Buda Pest
Scotstown Hitmen @ Axis: Pinoy All Stars 2
Central CXBL All-stars @ Gold Coast Michelin Men
South Bend Rhinocopters @ Kansas City Crossfire
Plainview Bulldogs @ Prague Panthers
Komodo Dragon @ Oberon Bulls
Florida BeachDogz @ OffTopica Miracle
Northwood Trojans @ SWAT City Vigilantes

Need I say more? (Hey, I said I'd get EVERY team in the write-ups at some point)

Oceania Pro Alpha Tostito-Goal Game of the Week

The GlobeDotters: Indianapolis Gurupies @ Banzai Pipeline 'Nites

I don't know whether Axis just chose not to game plan or what last week but BPN tore them APART. It was ugly and I don't really understand the logic in not gameplanning for contention games unless the goal is to drop your seed to play weaker teams...not sure where the class is in that but I'm also not saying that's what Axis did...I have no idea what happened beyond the fact BPN kicked some serious ass. GDIG however, has remained an obvious favorite in Alpha, but after last weeks game, I do not see any situation in which BPN could not pull this off. Just watch out that's all I'm saying, this could turn into a nailbiter.

Oceania Pro Zeta PowerZone Game of the Week

Amsterdam Bulls @ Razorback Nation

Both of these teams are fighting for as high of a playoff spot as they can get. They're about middle of the pack in terms of contention right now but they definitely have shown the ability to possibly make a big splash in the playoffs. This will be another close one that could have big time repercussions come playoff time.

Excellent choice of words. In a league and a game that is completely out of balance I deem the balanced game more worthy of watching.

Why put effort into a game that you know you will lose horribly or win easily. This are the games I look forward to the most.

While that's true, Deadwood lived up to what I thought they'd bring to the game. They definitely showed everyone that they're a team that could pull off some huge upsets in the playoffs.

our team scored for us and the Mules and we discovered a "little" AI problem - what more can you ask for...

Not really a close game IMO. Our QB has enrolled into treatment after taking 10 sacks.

It's my pleasure TBF. I have always respected you as an owner and I know how much potential your teams have. TBP will get there.
