Just looking for some opinions on what builders think is more beneficial, and in what situations. Haven't really seen many truly heavy Route Run wideouts, so haven't had a basis for comparison.

Anyone with a decently fast receiver taken both up to high levels? Observations?

nobody knows for sure if either of those SA's work or not, but I would just go with route run.

Both are staple SA's for WR's. Route run gives speed boost while quick cut makes your dots retain high speed when cutting. Both bonuses for WRs

I'd say the same. Route run is more effective on faster dots, and quick cut is a great way to compensate for lower agility.

Route Running

The receiver will get a bonus to speed and agility when running a route.

This skill is important for receivers who are otherwise not very fast or agile.

And this is another one of the myriad examples of the skill description not quite matching the actual SA in game value.
10 points in Route run amounts to ~+3 on the speed script. On a fast player, getting that +3 costs anywhere from 30-50 SP's at end build. On a slower player that amount to 10-28 SP's. So when I say more effective I mean you're getting a more efficient gain in Speed for the amount of SP's spent on the SA.

If you don't believe me run it through the speed script yourself. Route run gives a linear boost of ~3 speed per 10 points in the SA. Regardless of the players initial top speed.
