Here are your top 8 playoff teams from last season.

1.) Nashville Hounds – World League
2.) Detroit Reservoir Dogs – Dropped from League
3.) Oakland Suppressors
4.) NY-CA Ground Pounders
5.) South Otto Fragile Porcelain Mice
6.) Atlantic City Affliction
7.) BLACK OPS 7
8.) Alabama Slammers

This should make for a pretty exciting season with only two teams not returning… err wait a minute here, I forgot one team decided to use an Ohio State coach and that turned into a fail. The good news is they at least fired them whereas the other one will have to wait two more months.

1.) Chocolate Blaze – I guess this isn’t too hard to slam them into the top spot. They are only three seasons away from being the runner up to the best team in the game that season. We all know that Dpride59 (aka Dana White) loves to puff out his chest about his greatness, and he usually is right (and as long as Honolulu isn’t around). The name change is a interesting tactic. Maybe to confuse some unexpected forum readers who this colorful text editor is with his witty glit. We have seen some other people change their names with some varying degrees of success:
Catch22 – thehazyone
Mike Vick - Michael Vick
SteelersInsider – Tony Dungy
Thundercat_12 – Boltz
Overrated – Emmitt Smith
Tony Dungy – SteelersInsider
Anyways, be prepared opposing owners, because when you lose by 70+, you will get a gift wrapped PM from Dana White titled, ‘hey’ that says, “close game today .”

2.) All The King's Men – The other fallen angel should make things pretty tough for the rest of the east side in USA Pro. With King using his Bling to fund most of the team and a solid core of coordinators they could challenge the top spot. They already threw a Nacho game at NY-CA, so they must be confident they don’t need a mini helmet for them. Oakland looks to be the only team that could see a Mini Helmet day later on down the road. The only thing that has me slightly worried is QB Ken Anderson isn’t around to help this team win.

3.) Oakland Suppressors – The top two teams go away, but are replaced by World Leaguers. The question is, can they scrap their way into the World League next season. I know they have dedicated staff and good dots. This is really their season to get to the next level. The one game that tests their World League potential was last season debacle against Nashville. I hope that was just a set of bad tactics that day, otherwise that’s not good playing against an average team that bounces back and forth from the Pros and WL. If these guys are like last season, they will play great pass defense with possibly the best running attack in the league. They have mini helmet days to use against South Otto, Blaze, and NY-CA which is much better options then what they had last season. They also got a tough crossover match up from the West which could give NY-CA a half game advantage.

4.) NY-CA Ground Pounders – I had higher hopes for them last season and they had some tough losses in the regular season. The one bright spot for them though was they almost took out Nashville in the playoffs last year. We will never know if they had an answer for the Reservoir Dogs to get to the ultimate league. They will get to test their manhood in Week 3 against AtKM to see if they are up to the challenge. I noticed they also have a preview game against the Blaze coming up in a couple of days. These guys usually play good defense which will make it tough for teams ranked below them to move up. They may want to put in a support request about their schedule as it did them no favors again this season with mini helmet day options only for South Otto and maybe the Slammers.

5.) South Otto Fragile Porcelain Mice – Are you guys just resigned to the 5th spot for the remainder of your GLB careers? Probably not as there is a better chance you fall in the rankings versus moving up. The good news is the roster changes from aging dots to young pups looks nearly complete. The bad news is can you compete with 6 defensive lineman? I am sure Oakland is licking their chops right now. It’s too bad one of your DT’s commitments fell through as I know of one sitting on Korb’s roster right now would have loved to play for you guys. With chemistry a little beat up with some coin flip games at the beginning could make things tough to get into the playoffs. I will bet the odds on their underrated coordinators to ensure they stay in the playoff hunt when all things are said and done.

6.) BLACK OPS 7 – This could be the team that takes Oakland’s (and NY-CA the season before) title as surprise team of the season. They barely lost to Oakland last year and almost knocked Detroit out of the playoffs in round one. I also see a Gurupies connection sitting in the front office which will definitely help. They get Corpus Christi Illegal Aliens right out of the gate and who knows what team will show up to play BO7 as they have a tendency to lose to teams they shouldn’t and beat teams they should. They have some great options for mini helmet day as the Blaze, NY-CA, Oakland, and South Otto all come to Bleed Out Stadium

7.) Atlantic City Affliction – I have no idea what to think of you guys. I remember when we first got to USA Pro and this team was considered one of the tough teams to beat. Then this team rapidly fell to the bottom of the league and barely avoided being demoted a few times. I think most people had written them off, but they somehow resurrected themselves late last season and actually made an appearance in the playoffs after five seasons of purgatory. They seem young, chemistry looks decent, and they start with three games to make sure they are on the right track to success. If this is just simply a tactics problem they had all that time, then this should be a lesson to all of you who think great dots bring easy W’s. That’s not always the case.

8.) College Station Aggies – My favorite team from last season is back and slowly getting better. They ended on a three game slide to knock themselves right out of the playoffs. Being slightly under leveled hurt them then, but are now closing the gap. I think the league on the East side has gotten tougher regardless if what Mr. Dee Pride59 says which should make for exciting playoffs races. I am going to give these guys the inside track again being long time vets themselves. These guys will probably start looking for entrance into the World League next year, but have this season to rough some teams up.

9.) Alabama Slammers – I don’t know a lot about these guys other than they did beat the Aggies last season and were somewhat under leveled which prevented them from making any serious noise. They did squeak into the playoffs so that gives them some confidence going into this season. I also see they gave cwrujosh all they could handle in a ranked game and beat Monmouth in a meaningless scrimmage, so maybe these guys are better then I am giving them credit for. Their first four conference games are against playoff caliber teams, so they could be fighting their way out of a hole the entire season. They do get College Station and Black Ops at home for a possible promotional game.

10.) Wala Wala Drunken Shriners – I am going to give Griz a little love here as I know he has been around the block a few times. I was a little surprised they struggled last year and I just have trouble keeping them out of the top ten. It looks like they are going to use a more traditional offense then the one they used last year with Rick Fuller (interesting build by the way Catch22). At least they don’t open up with a grueling schedule they did last season which should help the teams confidence as they make their way through the season. Unfortunately for College Station and the Slammers, they could see mini helmet days to help propel Wala Wala into the playoffs.

To commensurate the 25 years of Top Gun’s release, I give you the greatest moment in that movie…the jawsnap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pc2k_WGm3U&feature=player_embedded#t=16s

Good Luck all and Enjoy!
