sort of depends on the team...
On a weaker club going more in the distance direction might be helpful if you team is often pinned back deep in your own territory. On the other hand you may out-kick your coverage and end up with run backs.
If you have a stronger team and are often punting closer to mid-field it may make more sense to move toward the hang time side of things to increase fair catches and give coverage units a chance to make quick tackles.
