A little game to keep the interest up for non playoff and even playoff teams.

The OPL bookie challenge

Rules

Everyone starts out with $10,000.

You can bet on 1 game, or them all, there is no maximum amount of bets you can make, but you cannot bet more money that you have.

Money won or lost is carried over from round to round all the way until the championship game. After the championship game the person with the most money will win the contest.

Types Of Bets that can be made and explanation of how each bet works

Straight Bets

The team wagered on must win by the point spread given at the time of the wager Games that tie are considered "no action" and money is re-deposited back into your account.

Example:
Player wagers $100.00 on Tampa bay -6 over the Chargers who are +6

If Tampa Bay wins by more than 6 points the player wins $100.00 so the total payout including the initial wager would be $200.00. If Tampa bay only wins by 6 points then the game is considered "no action" and all money is returned to the bettor. If the Tampa bay wins by less than 7 points or loses the game out right the wagers is lost.

You can also beat on the "underdog" of the game. In the example above the Chargers would be the underdog getting +6. If the chargers win the game outright, or lose by 5 points of less you would win. If the chargers lost by 6 it would be a tie and your bet would be returned to you. If the chargers lost by 7 or more you would lose the bet.

Totals (also known as Over/Under bets)

The combined score of both teams for games wagered on.

Example: The player lays $100.00 on the OVER in the NY Jets/Dallas game. The total for the game is 45. If both teams' combined score is more than 45 than the player would win $100.00. If the combined score is equal 45 the game is considered "no action" and the money is returned. If the combined score is less than 45 then the wager is lost.

You can also bet the Under in the game. Using the example above, if you bet on the under and the combined teams score is less than 45 you would win.

Future Bets

In the opening round thread ONLY, I will post future bets. These bets are "odds bets"

Example: The Chicago Bears are 7 to 1 to win the Super Bowl. You wager $100.00 that the Bears will win the super bowl. If the Bears do win the super bowl you will win $800.00: 700 for the win + 100 original wager.

All future wagers can only be made before the round 1 games sim. No future bets after round 1 will be accepted.

This thread will be used so I can keep track of everyone's totals.

Each round of the playoffs will have a separate thread with the lines up for the games.

hey guys got to mention you don't have to spend all your money in round 1. original 10,000 dollars you get right now is all you get 4 free any winnings you get will be added to the 10,000 dollars of course any losses that you have will be subtracted. for example let's say you bet 5000 dollars worth of bets in round 1, that means no matter how much you win or lose in round 1 you still have 5000 dollars to play with a round 2. to enter the contest you must bet atleast 1 dollar in round 1. there is no restriction on how little you can bet in any round after round 1. once again if you have any questions feel free to ask
