*****

1.) Nashville Hounds (8-0) Record of remaining teams: 36-28 (0.563)
They have gotten quite fat on bad teams in the eastern conference. Five of the top six teams will round out their remaining schedule. It will be interesting to see if any of these teams can knock them off their hill. I believe they had the worst chemistry to start the preseason of the top 8. By tomorrow, they will have reached that safe number of 90 (sorry BLACK OPS). Led by Runningback err Wide Receiver Fredricksen Russell with his incredible 44 broken tackles (had 47 total last year) which leads the league for all WR’s. Seth Pointer has twice as many receptions as the next FB in the league and nearly twice as many yards. Using these rarely used options provides many obstacles for their up coming opponents. Currently are first in many passing categories for the league (yards, completions, and touchdowns). Also lead the eastsiders in YAC which isn’t surprising knowing those dots. Are strong in many other categories as well as they look to make their seventh trip to the World League.

2.) Detroit Reservoir Dogs (8-0) Record of remaining teams: 35-27 (0.547)
It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you spend less time on the forums talking about how great you are and more time trying to figure out how to beat teams. These guys have been outstanding so far, especially defensively. They stopped the former number one team NY-CA cold in their tracks and somehow stole their identity from last season as well. Interestingly enough, they rank number one in both pass defense and run defense. Granted they got to beat up two of the worst teams in the league, they have played some great teams as well (Monmouth, NY-CA, and South Otto). Lead the league in least missed tackles, hurries, and pass deflections. DeMarcus Mann and CONQUEST "The White Horseman" are creating havoc for offensive lineman which is amazing with people crying about the defensive lineman nerfage this season. Adrian "Going All Day" Peterson is making a second run at the eastern conference MVP. One of my favorite categories is completion percentages and Charlie Walker leads all QB’s with an astonishing 84%.

3.) Oakland Suppressors (7-1) Record of remaining teams: 38-26 (0.593)
They have a tougher remaining schedule then the Hounds (so the numbers say), but that isn’t really true. They already beat South Otto and NY-CA as part of their seven game winning streak. Nashville comes up in a few days, so we will see if they can hold on to their streak and unbeaten record in the East. They use a three headed backfield with two of them already over 1000 yards and a third closing on that mark fast. They are efficient in the air with a 74.1% completion rate and 352 yards a game. On the other side of the ball, you better be aware of Hadley Baxendale lines up as he is helping Oakland lead the league in interceptions with his personal eight. His buddy SS _Ronniie Lott_ is tied for second in interceptions with four, so Hadley is on another playing field when it comes to snagging balls out of the air not intended for him. Don’t think you can attack else where easily either as Tiny Lanswick leads the league in pass deflections. Quite an impressive defensive back field you have in Oakland.

4.) NY-CA Ground Pounders (6-2) Record of remaining teams: 25-39 (0.391)
Good news is they have the easiest schedule remaining of the top four teams and after last week, they need it. Bad news is, South Otto wouldn’t mind shoving them down a slot and Nashville is waiting for them at the finish line. Oakland’s upset of the Pounders can easily be overlooked. They had a mini helmet day thrown at them and they only loss by six points. It’s the Detroit Reservoir Dogs game that is very concerning. They were slaughtered and their own mini helmet day did nothing to stop the bleeding that day. Marcus Maldonado favorite pass play, the Midfield Cross, is good for positive yards 86% of the time in all their wins. In the two losses, that percentage plummeted to 33%. Take away the I formation, and they only ran the ball ten times in those two games. The wheels didn’t start to come off the bus against Detroit until the 4th Quarter, so I am not sure why they have changed their offensive identity so much this season. Detroit maybe the better team this season, I just have trouble believing they are 39 points better than NY-CA. These guys have a lot of work to do with their offense before the playoffs start.

5.) South Otto Fragile Porcelain Mice (5-3) Record of remaining teams: 30-34 (0.441)
Just plodding along. Haven’t moved up or down since the beginning. The only interesting things to note will be can they make NY-CA fall even farther and their finale against the rising Alabama Slammers. The only stats that is eye popping is their league leading 72 forced fumbles (which leads second place by 23). That is quite deceptive though as 22 of them were by special teamer Thomas Coke in their two 255+ point blowouts. Otherwise they rank in most categories from 5-10. A deadly team on most day, but very beatable by the top end teams. I consider them a sleeping giant and it will be interesting to see if Alabama can knock them into the six hole which could mean they would face their good buddies in Oakland in the second round of the playoffs.

6.) Alabama Slammers (4-4) Record of remaining teams: 32-32 (0.500)
It’s nice to see they made me looking somewhat intelligent by placing them seventh last time with a 1-3 record. That blazed off a 3-1 record since with their only loss to Nashville. They have a tougher road to go with BLACK OPS, Oakland, Detroit, and South Otto all looming down the path. The BLACK OPS game is very interesting as this looks to be one of those coin flip games. I am sure the OPS are still scratching their heads with a 6-2 record and still behind the Slammers. The Slammers beating my personal favorite College Station now makes them the best youngest team in the conference. They have a nice ground game alongside an efficient passing attack.

7.) BLACK OPS 7 (6-2) Record of remaining teams: 36-28 (0.563)
Alright, you finally have my attention. Now it is time to go to work. With a difficult schedule ahead of you, it will be interesting to see how you guys do. As I said in the Slammers synopsis, that game is very critical to securing a playoff trip. 10-6 or 11-5 looks to be your destiny. Looking at the stats, you are faring better than Alabama and College Station who are of similar level. 11th in rushing with those lower level dots and 7th in pancakes is impressive, but it is your ability to hunt down QB’s with 114 hurries (6th in the league) and 43 sacks (8th in the league). It’s apparent you guys understand trench warfare and this should bode very well for you coming next season.

8.) College Station Aggies (4-4) Record of remaining teams: 32-32 (0.500)
I didn’t see BLACK OPS or Alabama coming out of now where to knock Wala Wala and Happy Valley out of the top eight. Unfortunately for you, they took you out as well and went right by in the standings. I see since the last time that I wrote that you hit level 63. It looks like level 64 will be attainable by playoff time, but to really make use of it, I think you need to get into the 6th seed. Those two losses to the OPS and Alabama might have prevented that from happening. Maybe Wala Wala and Minnesota will wake up and beat them for you to help your playoff standings.

9.) Minnesota Eagles (3-5) Record of remaining teams: 34-30 (0.531)
Beat the worst two teams in the east and another team not even ranked. Squeezed out 27 (6.75 points a game) points in your four losses in the east. With a tough road ahead of you, I just don’t see you getting into the playoffs. The good news is you still have games against Alabama, OPS, and College Station to get in still. You may need to win all three to get in because Alabama and College Station still have Falls City and Southern Cal on their schedules (another wards two guaranteed wins) and BLACKS OPS still has Falls City left, but they have the 6 wins unlike the other two. You better have those three games circled, and likewise, if you three want to cement your playoff hopes then you need to win to knock the only real threat left.

10.) Happy Valley Whiteout (2-6) Record of remaining teams: 22-42 (0.344)
I pretty much wrote you guys off and was just going to randomly throw The CAVE into the tenth spot, but looking at your remaining schedule, you still have a shot. The question is, do you guys have the heart and fortitude to turn around an ailing situation. If you can somehow go 5-2 with your remaining schedule (which is very plausible), then your week 16 showdown with College Station could determine who gets the final playoff spot. Will they be level 64 by then or will you guys even care anymore. If it is an offensive coordinator that is keeping you from producing, now is the time to find one. You have an easy schedule for any new OC to learn before week 16 comes around, so make use of it. It is truly sad to see how far you guys have fallen this season and if you are looking to make a go of it next season, agents will want to gravitate towards winners. I believe you guys can still make it happen.

Enjoy!

Very in-depth EnDee, thanks bud. Pounders are going through an identity crisis.

DRD is the big surprise, what a turn around from last season.
