I ask because I have 2 first step pieces and am wondering how high First Step can be when the AEQ is fully upgraded?

Technically, 34.
10 is the maximum for spending SP.
6 is the maximum (at lvl 72) for each piece of AEQ.
However, I have yet to find a valid reason for going over 8 or 10 in any SA. The diminishing returns beyond 10 simply aren't worth the cost. %AEQ are pretty much the best at every position, with a few exceptions perhaps. The diminishing returns play a part in the preceding fact, but the primary reason is that you can't spend SP to improve your Fake Chance, Hold Block, Break Tackle, Make Tackle etc. equipment.

Also, I actually think taking SAs above 12 is currently slightly under-rated for certain SAs.
Definitely not a great idea in general though....

I went to 21 once, with SV on a FS, a long long time ago. It sucked, but then again, most every dot sucked back then as well. At least, all of mine did. lol

It actually wasn't that bad. Coupled with fake gear I could see it being effective, but I dont think the trade off is worth it.
