Tournament Structure
-Single elimination
-Seeding would be done either randomly or based on regular season record with tie breakers in effect.
-ranked matches
Why I came up with this
There are a lot of teams that are active and care about this game, but for whatever reason they miss the playoffs. This would provide some fun to a team who missed the playoffs. Plus, I think it would be fun regardless to see who are the best teams in the pro's to miss the playoffs.
Requirements
-Must be in a pro league
-Must have missed the playoffs the season prior to the tournament
How it would work
Example, The Lawrence Stop Signs miss the playoffs season 20 in WEPL. Therefore they are eligible to participate in this tourney, which would start in season 21. Of course, teams could have a great off season and dominate this tournament since it starts the next season, but that's ok.
Who will be running this tournament
Me, I would be glad to handle it. Anyone who would like to help would be more than welcome. I've never ran a tourney and if anyone could share some advice that would be great too. Also, a trophy would need to be made up and I wouldn't know where to start with that.
The main thing that worries me is that there might be a limited number of teams who miss the playoffs and care enough to want to participate.
But if enough people would be interested, I think it would be fun. Let me know what you guys think and I can post this in every pro forum.
