The Philly Knights have 2 FS that could cover and tackle Mr. Tery into no mans land! Think, and do a little research before you speak! Ed Taylor is BY FAR the best FS in the league hands down, he leads the Knights defense while playing out of position!

(shhhh let them try to throw on us)

It's tough to single out one person on a defense as a standout, especially defensive backs since what they do is work by subtraction rather than addition. A CB who is so shutdown that a QB won't even throw to his side of the field is going to LOOK like he had a bad stat day...but anyone watching the game will know that the guy was a beast.

One of the things I really enjoy about this game is seeing the nuances and flavors of each defense come out. Even without the defensive AI implemented yet, there's definite characters and styles that have emerged - Bridge City, for example, being a loose-cannon, disruptive defense. It really adds a layer of authenticity and, for lack of a better word, fun to the game.

I think you are mixing up Ed Taylor with Justin Walters.

The funny thing about this game is people claiming who has the best players. I would argue that its more situational and/or a deficiency of other team mates than it is build. You know, like sub par CBs who end up with loads of tackles or PDs cuz they can't cover as well.

Just my $0.02

i agree too. tackles are not a good indicator of defensive skill. if your defense has twice as many tackles as the opposing teams D, guess what? you in all likelihood lost the game.

one player getting a ton of tackles means there is a problem in your defense. the only exception to this is a linemen who has an insane game will probably get a lot of tackles on the line; this is good. but secondary guys getting 10 tackles a game? you really want 10 plays to get to your LBs/CBs before a tackle is made? sacks/hurries, fumbles, interceptions... these are important stats

Yep, I agree with that. Even then, sacks and hurries can be manipulated by team strategy relatively easy. So can FFs and TFLs for that matter. Interceptions I would argue are the 'truest' stat but even then a CB who has a poor coverage build but high catching might get thrown at more often and 'pad the stats' with his better catching.

As much as I like recognizing people for their skill as an agent/player, the probowl nominations will always be subject to much debate. Which is why I think its more important to just recognize the people on your team since you're intimately familiar with them as a DC/OC.
