Gotham (AP) -- After a close scuffle with the Deathstars, Gotham City needed a win today. Fortunately for them, the Mid-Pac warriors were on their schedule for today.
Amassing over 400 yards total, the Gotham City Punishers defeated the Mid-Pac Warriors 51-7 in the Abusement Park. With the win, Andy Bailey and Dan Miller sit back and watch their teammates Harley Petit and Brandon Lafell steal the spotlight. Harley Petit, a talented Tight End added to the roster over the offseason, caught 6 passes for over 60 yards and danced in the endzone twice. He later commented, "It's great to finally produce like this. I feel like I've regained some confidence in myself."
Baby Carrot, the starting HB for the Punishers, has always been a low-key, low production player, but today he averaged almost 5 yards a carry on 18 carries. Carrot feels as if this one small step towards becoming a dominant back in the USA BBB #6. "I'm not there yet, but I will be. And if you don't believe me, I'll see you there."
Passing the ball today for Gotham was the two headed monster of Andrew Hatch and Rico Dynamite. Before the addition of Hatch, Rico Dynamite consistently struggled with the starting role, and maintained an abysmal record as the starting QB of the Punishers. When Hatch was added to the roster in week 2, it relieved some pressure from Dynamite's shoulders, and allowed him to "Ball his own way" as Coach Patrick Atlboy837 commented.
The lone bright spot of Mid-Pac's gameplan was the passing game. Receivers J MATOI and Chris Borque combined for a tremendous 23 catches for 176 yards. MATOI commented to the press before boarding the flight back to Hawaii, "We're not known to be a talented team. I just want to show everyone that we're much better than we seem."
Next week the Punishers travel to Texas to face the undefeated Dallas Longhorns.
