Again, continuing with games I forgot to write
Coruscant (AP) -- The Gotham City Punishers found themselves in alien land today, and discovered first hand the dominance of the Deathstars.
In a defensive 0-12 loss to the Coruscant Deathstars, not many other teams could find something positive about the game, but Coach David Sack boarded the transport home with a new sense of confidence. "The Deathtars haven't lost since some time last year, and I believe we came the closest to dethroning them." The impressive defensive effort was led by Monster Backer and Terrence Lockdon. Backer collected 3 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, while Lockdon, easily the defensive MVP of the day, amassed 3 interceptions, shaking the confidence of Coruscant QB Michael Vick Jr. "It seemed like wherever I threw, Terrence had my number. It's ridiculous, did I lose my playbook around him or somethin'?"
Whatever visible offensive effort from Gotham was led by Andy Bailey and Harley Petit, who combined for 5 catches and nearly 67 yards. Bailey, who is slowly edging out Dan Miller as the premier wideout on the Gotham Squad, commented "It was tough out there today. We couldn't get any looks down field all day." The Coruscant offense was totally ineffective, and had to rely constantly on the defensive to give them good field position. Halfback Mark Strong said "Toughest team I've played against this season. We earned this win, and we're going to earn this league... You watch and see."
