I have a Power HB whom I didn't build as well as I would have liked and I couldn't afford to consistently boost, so I will be retiring him at the end of the season.

My question is: I have 6 SP left and am wondering how I should allocate this SP and/or how I should reshuffle his EQ to make him effective THIS SEASON, knowing that I won't be keeping him around much longer.

I would put SP in agility and all EQ in speed

Might as well go ahead and cap carry. Next VA reset switch Tenacious with Steady Grip,then go SYM. I would take speed to 73-77. Last I would focus on agility to 73.

SYM is always the second VA after Bruiser for a PB. If anyone tells you any different, then they are wrong.

I'm sure that's good advice for the future, but

a) there won't be another VA reset for this dot, as I said I will be retiring him at the end of the season
b) I haven't met the requirements for SYM yet (although I could If i used 2 SP)
c) I don't have any points in SA's to take full advantage of SYM
d) Is spending 6SP to raise carrying by 2 going to be more beneficial NOW than raising agility by 3 or Vision by 6? Or even adding it to SA's?

This is essentially an argument about where 6SP would provide the biggest immediate performance boost...

This for equipment, but I'd consider sticking the skill points into agility, stamina and Lower The Shoulder (getting it to 3) as well as agility.

As to the rest
