im not sure which would be better, but you are probably going to want to at least 68 cap catching. i am building a CB for INTs with this build plan:
---------------------------------
speed to 68
agility to 68
vision to 73
jumping to 68
catching to 68
stamina to 48
tackling to 48
confidence to 48
SAs
strength to 61
----------------------------------
for a safety, it would probably be a little different than this, but if nothing else, this would probably be a good thing to start out with and start thinking about and playing with.

68 cap catching is way too high. 48 at most. You need to have the speed, agility, and vision to put yourself into a position to make an INT.

W3, a few things... Speed to 68 first will give you about 82 end-game. I suppose you will put all EQ into it, so finishing around 130-135 with EQ. I think that's still a bit low. I think catching/jumping are fine, but I wonder if you shouldn't put some more into strength and carrying?

I'm a bit confused here. What's the order of rolls for catching and maintaining posession of a pass? I thought it went something like:

Vision/Speed/Agility to get into position, once in position, vision/jumping to get in position for ball, then catching to determine if ball is caught, then carrying/strength to determine if player holds on to ball and maintains possession. Is this a crude, yet accurate description?

If so, I would think a little Strength/Carrying might help the CB maintain possession of the ball over the WR/TE. For example, in situations of jump balls. Strength (and to a lesser extent, carrying) would help the player come down with the ball. In real life, at least. And we know GLB isn't real life. Any W3, do you recall Bort's explanation of these rolls? Or where they might be?

I'd go

Speed 74 (Never should go below this cap for a FS)
Vision 68
Agility 74
Catching 61
Jumping 61
Tackling to 48
Stam to 48
Confidence to 40
SA's in this order to 10 a piece
Super Vision
Change Direction
Zone Focus (I hate how this sucks now)
First step (to 8 or 9 w EQ)

68 capping actually brings you to 87, and with all EQ in speed (which is probably a good idea), that would be 145. i dont think thats terribly slow. and then agility would be 82, vision would be 84, jumping would be 75, catching 70, stamina in the mid 50s, and confidence and tackling at about 50, and strength at 61 (which should also be a pretty solid amount when you factor in how much strength WRs have.

as for the attributes that go into the INT roll, thats fairly accurate as far as i know... but carrying doesnt help enough for it to be worth much. in fact, its been a long time since its been talked about, but there are lots of people who think carrying isnt in the INT roll. I think bort has dropped a nugget on the subject -- its been a while for sure, but given that the mass majority doesnt touch carrying, when some defensive builds have close to 70 catching already (and actually do have fair success with INTs), i dont see carrying doing much to help. it also adds another attribute that needs working on, in a build that already has 1 more than most builds, which makes it hard to work with. i guess, if nothing else, it would be a nice thing to ask in the Q&A thread.

i would agree that 73 cap is a nice thing, but in this build its hard to balance everything out and still go very high. its kind of like the power WR of defensive backs. you need to work on so much and cover so many attributes and get them to adequate levels that its hard to take things high and still leave room for all the other attributes... and its not like 145 speed will be very slow. if you do go with 73 cap speed (which again, im not saying is bad... if anything its a good thing), i would do what you did and take the cap out of catching. i, however, dont agree with agility to 74. agility, imo, only needs to get to 80+. going higher is a bit wasteful, and vision to the 68 cap, for the third attribute would even break 80.for a safety, i know you need more than 80 vision. and as for SAs, those are pretty much the important SAs, but if we are looking at INT builds, i would also throw sticky hands into the mix. honestly, the biggest concern i would have with the build i provided is stamina and tackling.

How are you getting 87 Speed from capping speed at 68? What are you doing?

I just ran through the build generator and finished speed at 69.

At level 75 on day 440 he had 84.64.

i dunno... im actually scratching my head as to how youre only getting 84. i have speed capped at lvl 2 (trained to ~90%), and at 68 at lvl 9, train it over to 69, and then from ALGs it gets to 87 at lvl 74.

Ah, I see. You're using Intense training. I was using Normal past 25.
