I hope, as Americans, you all realize our Constitution isnt worth the paper its evaporating on.

Bottom line is the post Bush error has exposed more flaws in exploiting the constitution then ever before.

Simply put, we are living in a Country that lives by rules set by people 200 years ago.

And to think that the Forefathers could have possibly understood the dilemas of this generation and era is absurd.

The Constitution, IN MY OPINION... Needs to be completely rewritten for the age we live in. Use the old Constitution as a simple foundation at its core (Freedom, liberty, EQUALITY..etc) and rewrite it based on the knowledge we have today. This would be done by taking popular vote as well as congressional and presidential votes.

Furthermore, it should be re-written every 100 years or so.

Seriously, we are not as stupid and rednecked as some people believe we are. I have lived in Oklahoma all my life, graduated from OU with a degree in Engineering plus have a beautiful wife and two kids. Most people in this state are just like anyone else in the country.

Ok, so your name is Ardmore Sooner, you graduated from OU and have lived in Oklahoma all your life, but is that a hurricane on your avatar?

Everybody! Listen up! Here's what we're gonna do! We're throwing out these languages, we've been using for awhile now. We need to figure out some new grammar, we've been conjugating these damn state of being verbs the same way for far too long! We're in a rut, damn it! Brochures will be released detailing the changes, please adapt as quickly as possible. Additionally, all of you with eyeglasses will need to undergo mandatory lasik surgery. The new classification system for organisms is currently being beta tested, my six year-old nephew is lead dev. So far we've elimated all that kingdom phylum and genus species crap and replaced it with a much simpler system designed around how many of one animal it would take to beat one T-Rex. Furious debate about ostriches is delaying the release date.

I'm curious. What would they not have understood? Incredibly hostile indigenous populations that we forcibly have our way with, which respond using guerrilla tactics? An incredibly uneducated and underinformed general populace? War? Food supply? International dimplomacy? Economics?

I think that maybe the only thing that would really boggle their mind is that they give us this incredible instrument with which to govern ourselves, and we used it to outlaw alchohol. That actually might confuse the hell out of them.

Wow, good thing that almost all of the things that were changed about the constitution, (ie: amendend onto afterwards) were items that attempted to further ensure freedom, liberty, and equality.

The bill of rights wasn't a part of the constitution, if you'll recall. You're freedom to express wasn't originally in there (though I suppose you could argue that it was almost a package deal).

So, wow. They actually thought that issues they might not have foreseen could rear their ugly head, and adopted a means to add to, change, overwrite....AMEND it.

Christ, and people wonder why we have an electoral college.
