Bay Area (AP)… A strong defensive showing and a resurgent offense led San Jose to their third straight win today over the Bay Area Bastards, 30-6.

“We feel that this team has really turned a corner,” said owner K9 Fiend, “After a rough start, we’re playing our game….Chupacabra football. Pure blood and guts. It’s beautiful.”

San Jose’s defence is quickly becoming one of the league’s most feared units, having allowed just a single offensive touchdown this year. The Chupacabra defense had to bend against an improved Bay Area offense but never broke. Apart from two brief rallies mid-game, the Bastards never penetrated deep into San Jose’s end.

The win marked another strong offensive performance for San Jose, mounting 400 yards in a balanced attack featuring a relentless ground attack and an effective air attack led by Remo Rankin and Harry Cooter and tight end Storm O’Neal.

“We’re really starting to fire on all cylinders. Remo is spreading the ball around real nice,” said O’Neal, “Hell, it made me feel like a wideout.”

“Ooooo-eeee! I told you we was gonna whup us a Bastard!” shouted linebacker Demetrius McQueen after the game.

“Chupacabra baby! All day, everyday! Thunderarm, (expletive), I’m comin’ for you..Me n’ Thud N’ Hammond n’ Dump…. We ALL comin’ for you,” he continued, referencing the QB of the Colorado Springs Flyers, San Jose’s next opponent.

We pay top dollar for Bishop's talents. Eight bucks an article, but we own the rights and he gets no residuals.
