I never have gone by a ranking system (Been here done that), because there never was one that was truly able to be accurate amongst all teams.
H2H proves more than an SOS in my opinion.

Anyway no use crying over spilt milk. You had a good season congrats. I am sure we will meet somewhere down the road in a league or tourney. Thanks for your compliment and back at ya. Some Teams get there G string in a bunch when they lose to a Copper Team. It has always been that way.

Why is that?

They both played in Silver 2. The 9 place league when you average the team rankings or ratings. So the regular season games were probably not that hard when compared to Silver 3 or 1.

Crib played 4 teams that was outside of Silver 2 and was 1 and 3 in those games. In 2 of those Crib played tougher opponents of Devil's Advocates and Flump O-Rama and lost both. Crib was 1-1 against weaker Opponents beating New York Vampires and Losing to Brooklyn Bowery Boys. Losing to Brooklyn Bowery Boys hurt Cribs rating hurt more than losing to Devils and Flump combined.

CEP only played 3 teams outside of Silver 2 and was 2 and 1 in those. The only loss that really hurt their rating was against the Crib Midgets in the league championship game. Losing to Brigate Nere Italia was not that bad due to them being rated so much higher. If they would have tied BNI that would have changed their rating to ~710, putting them in the top 30's. Winning would put it to ~730, ranking them in the top 20.

Both of these teams appear to be pretty good teams. They also got promoted to gold. But they did not do very much outside of their own league. To improve your ranking, it turns out to be pretty simple, play good teams in other leagues and beat them. Your ranking can only go up.

Next season I plan to start publishing this rankings somewhere around week 8 to 10. That way teams that want to improve their rankings can find other high ranked teams in other leagues and schedule some ranked scrims. External league connectedness is the only way to get decent ratings of teams.
