I have just uploaded this new feature, based on user suggestions. It is a selectable option when buying custom equipment. Rented EQ is much cheaper (100 FP for a maxed out item), but it expires after one season, cannot be sold, and does not get refunded on retirement.

This makes it great for one-and-done pee wee players who want to use custom EQ, if you just want to try a different type of equipment for a little while, or if you're just not sure if you want the EQ forever. Regular custom EQ is still a better overall price for a long life multi-season player.

Terrible to put this in mid season...now all the teams who had CEQ are screwed from this new feature and so are the people who decide to buy now...folks that have wont get to save and folks that buy now will over pay...

This. And props to Catch22, just guessing but being he had been in pee wee's in the past I am sure he was a big advocate of this happening and pushed it. It made sense for both the business and the community.

I call for reparations for the thousands of flex dumped into non rentable CE the last 12 seasons.......

I hope that a lot of people don't buy CEQ this season, and use that flex to make more players for next season. After getting demoted to Silver this season, I've played against many teams that are mostly CPU players. With the upfront cost being so much lower, hopefully player creation rates will be up a lot.

Yep, should make a roster and a half like I did.
