I think we'd really like world league if we could get up there, and I think you'd see Ketchikan get a lot better and a lot more serious if we ever promoted (we're at our best when everyone expects us to go 5-11.) Whatever side of the argument one would take, the WL itself has spawned separation more than anything else. If Navs were in Pro for a few seasons, they would return to a similar stratosphere as the rest of the Pro league. You'd be a serious contender but not on another planet so to speak, as is the case this season.
Props to you guys though for getting up to WL and staying for so long! Obviously unless something off the wall happens, you'll get your first USAPL Gold this season and go back to WL for S19.
This is not an argument for or against the WL, just pointing out the circumstances that lead to the separation.
Whatever the case, you guys are outstanding. You have my respect and acknowledgment as a choice franchise!

The stratification of teams isn't because of WL. That's always existed. As agents have learned to build better dots and teams have learned to maximize AEQ/VA stacks, you've seen an increased disparity between "good" Pro teams and genuinely elite teams.

I think this will hold true in about 3 seasons when there is a larger population of well built players due to most understanding AEQ/VA stacking and the new player creation formats. Plus it is becoming more and more common with teams joining networks so a certain amount of elite teams will be the only ones who have a constant infux of players from feeder teams thus keeping then in the WL and their feeder teams forever struggling in their respective divisions pro - lvl cap leagues.
