What they are trying to say is that when ur player lvls up he will automatically gain a small amount of any attributes he uses for his position. And so u want to get ur STR up as high as possible early on so that as u lvl u get the auto lvl gains to raise up your most important attributes once they are high enough that it is expensive to use skill points in them. U also gain more from lvling early on in your career and it starts to slow up at different lvls in his career.
Multi-train 4 can help though. If you are multi-training an attribute enhanced to 30% you can get 7% per train through 90. That means even if strength is at 88, if you are multi-training you can add 1 pt of strength every season through training while still getting training gains in 3 other attributes.
So if you are a little behind, and take strength to 83 in your 5th season, you should still be able to add another 4 pts of strength through training.
