Your exactly right. Being on the right side of the storm along with some isolated super cells that blew up on the tail end of the storm brought with it some havoc with the afternoon heating. Storms cells exploded to 40-50k feet in the unstable air. It was a rarity to get 8-12 inches of rain and multiple tornadoes all in a 12 hour period. Some of the wall clouds were tremendous in size, but most of the twisters didn't exceed an F2. The storms were so fierce and carried over multiple counties the tornadoes just kept reforming from the same storms, although many skipped around and touched down then bounced back up just to reform 5 minutes later.
My NOAA weather radio was going haywire and the Civil Sirens were going off everywhere.
Hard to believe I guess that we got the worst of the Storm when we are 200 miles from the Gulf.

I checked the radar, but didn't see any hooks by us. They put our whole office/plant/warehouse in the tornado shelter at work yesterday. This crap sucks!

They had helicopters up tracking the tornadoes. I am trying to find what was then the live footage, There was actually 2 separate Tornadoes in different parts of Dallas County at the same time! Fucking crazy!
Keep in mind this was about 530-630 PM Rush Hour!
One was just West of Down Town (Dallas City Limits) you see above the other was In SE Dallas County Seagoville area.

I cant see the links at work but the one they were filming on the news from the high rise building was pretty cool to watch. It was the one on the West side of Dallas.
