I'm thinking about putting a lot of points into Aura of Intimidation. Does anybody have some insight into whether or not this skill really has an affect?

Also, I've heard varying opinions on Defense General. People have said it's useless, but others have said it has really helped their team a lot.

I have 4 points into Aura of Int and it has done jack shit for me. I only have 3 in Defensive General and it seems to be quite effective though..

In my personal opinion though, get your SPD AGI and VIS into the mid 30s before you start dumping any major points into the skill trees. Also, STR is pretty valuable for MLBs as well. I've taken equipment off of it to put into AGI, and I've had a severe drop in FFs.

I have 6 in Aura and haven't really noticed anything. I barely get any tackles though as it is, so I'm not really sure if the Aura doesn't really work, or I just suck as an MLB. I'm wondering if maybe my Aura isn't big enough yet still...that's why I'm trying to get some input from somebody who maybe has 8 or so in it.

i only have one in Aura and have 30 tackles in four games and 1 in the first game before i boosted so i really have 29 in three games Diving Tackle feel like its the only one worth putting up.

Be a higher level

That's pretty much the only way, unless you have a significantly better build than the guy who's starting over you.

I'm actually doing an Aura/Def General build at the moment... 5/5 in both and will continue to increase those as I gain levels.

I posted my build in the other thread and will provide a more stat-based update after another game or two.

As for my thoughts, Aura of Intimidation *seems* to be working. As far as I understand it, it affects all offensive players, so your defense can benefit from the aura as well. Some quick numbers... We allow 7.25 pts/game in 4 games played, only allowed two TD's (one resulted from a pick thrown from our own 20 in the first quarter though ) all season, and only 6 points total in second halves. In those second halves, we've had 2-3 crucial picks (one for the go ahead TD!) in very tight contests. My understanding of morale is that it will go up and down throughout the game, depending on your player's performance. My hope is that Aura of Intimidation will grind down the offense's morale all game, becoming the most useful when it matters the most: in the fourth quarter.

Take with it what you will... its a risky build and not one built for numbers, but it could be extremely beneficial if it works as advertised.

Interesting post. I noticed an increase in production for my MLB today. He got 3 tackles after getting only 4 all year. I added my points into Aura at the beginning of the season though, so take that as you will.

6 in Aura, 3 in Defense General

Thanks, I'll post up some splits after this next game. I'm curious as to how this will unfold as well. One other thing I noticed... out of the 6 points allowed, zero in the fourth.

I think that means it's working then. Now that I look at my player's abilities as well as my teams game results. They score less and less as the game goes on. And I do have 4 in Aura of Int.. So maybe it does work pretty well then.

defensive general will help your secondary out quite a bit people underate confidence which if important for the secondary
