For the last couple of season The Yell had one thing in mind. After season 16, make enough salary cap room to sign Lebron, Dwayne, Amare, and/or Bosh. We thought we could offer as much or more than anyone else. Richmond has the money, the women, and the market to pull that kind of talent.
Much like the Nets and the Clippers we failed to sign anyone. This failure left our roster in utter disrepair. Left with the option of keeping players, in their last years, around for losing seasons or giving them a chance to go play their plateau seasons elsewhere, I decided to release them.
What does this means for GBL? 1) The Yell are closing up shop as a competitive and may operate as a farm team for our sister team Ketchikan and anyone else that I've come to know (WPL 4 LYFE). If you have a player that needs playing time, send me a PM and I'll throw them on the roster for as long as you want.
2) I'm done with this game once my Ketch boys retire. This will leave me with thousands of flex points. I plan to renew the Yell for as long as I can and let the team operate as a home for unwanted players to mature and gain experience in the hope that one day some team will want them. You can now consider the Yell the boys and girls club of America of GLB.
I apologize I couldn't ask for a team demotion before the deadline.
Any original WPLers that need playing time for a player feel free to PM me and I'll get you on the team.
The Yell Officially and Permanently Secede from Competitive GLB
Signed,
Mavsman JOHN HANCOCK
