Old League Format. Or just create something like 2-3 Elite Leagues that are OPTIONAL to go into, unless you've won your league championship twice. I don't feel like planning out details, so if someone wanted to make an attempt, feel free.

the thing about the gold/silver is that so many teams fold shortly after getting to gold. so in theory, it seems like a good idea, but in practice, its killing the PW. i was on bengelfish guppies and south park cows and both were waaaaaay more fun in the silvers than once we got to gold.

Exactly. Plus, in the old league format, teams could take off a season and know that next season they would still be able to play their rivals in a game that means something in the league. Not to mention that you'd play the same group of rivals each season which just adds to the competition.

Gold has burned out so many great owners, and for anyone to even make a run there, it's a more than difficult challenge.

People like winning more than they like proving they are the best.

This is all Time Trial's fault.

Being promoted to the Gold League is an honor and I think that teams already have the option to opt out of Gold, so the fact that teams are deciding to quit likely has nothing to do with the Gold league, but may have something to do with the horrible update that turned silver leagues into half copper and half elite silver leagues, I think limiting the number of leagues is the easiest, and most likely solution.

This is the dumbest comment I have ever seen.

1. Just ask D~Town about that opt-out option Gold already has.

2. The Silver Leagues have NOTHING to do with Gold Owners quitting, if anything to blame, it's been the shitty sim.

3. Gold is brutal and just throwing out a random number, but 95% of Gold Owners quit because of either Merge or just being straight burnt out. (See: Mccollums, D~Town, Thunder66)

Wait, were we not talking about ALL of peewee owners quitting not just gold owners, my argument was that Gold owners are quitting at a pretty normal rate for the life expectancy of a player on a MMORPG.

The problem is losing silver owners after only a season or two in the game.

Hence, the promotion to Gold script is not the problem, nor anything in the Gold League, but more the silver and copper leagues.

Personally I had to talk to GLB Support more on being honored a demotion, than I had to talk to the chick on Prom night to get in her panties.

I will say it is absurd without going into much detail about it. GLB needs to start holding themselves accountable, before this game will ever be the game that it was made to be.

i think the GLB user-> admin interaction is some of the best in my experience with MMORPGs.

I can't even after deep pondering think of a game who deals with players on an individual basis more.

I can also say that, playing the game to its fullest extent also makes it one of the most EXPENSIVE MMORPGs I've ever even thought of playing.

Thus I would honestly expect even better than the already pretty superb user->admin interaction.

As far as saying that this game is somehow worse off than it SHOULD be, I just have to disagree, having owned and operated an ever-changing RPG similar in that way to GLB, it is very tough to maintain a user-base while really hustling to add as much as possible to the game.

I am extremely impressed with the past 16 seasons of GLB and I really look forward to the next few months where we should hopefully see a rise in the user-base as people go searching for Fantasy Football and stumble upon this masterpiece of a game as I once did.

I think that GLB only really struggles because of their hesitance to use advertisements which ultimately drives the cost on to the members of the game.

They responded to my Support claim against you in about 5 hours. With the exception of that, they're ass

Ellisbell is the only one that posts on forums, and he usually responds to any support claims I send in when I do. (With the exception of the overly-active Catch22). Bort sightings are extremely rare. However, with the exception of the way they handle some things, Customer Support here is above average.

EDIT: The promotion still will be more effective when they fix the demotion one in short.

Did you just mention me in the same breath as D-Town mothereffer!

(wasn't so much that I was burnt out, was definitely getting there, it was I felt that I had nothing left to prove and didn't feel like pissing away $$$ for no reason).

Now had they have come up with a Platinum league where all the gold winners went, or just gave us all an automatic bid into WL...

I think people are just [insert insult] to be honest. I've taken 2 seasons off including not boosting or buying any CEQ last season and have still kept my team in Gold and even made the playoffs 1 season without ever touching my AI. People just like to stock their uber cool trophy case with copper and silver league trophies... and hey, that's cool, I get it. But there are still a lot of dedicated and competitive owners that continue to fight it out in Gold each season. However, I do think some changes should be made.

1. League re-shuffle each season
Honestly a big part that gave me a second wind awhile back was changing conferences. I got tired of playing the same 11 teams every season + 4 new silver teams. Rivalries are fun but it gets boring.

2. More turnover. We're already turning teams over left and right and owners are dropping down to silver so they can win again anyway, might as well make it official. I still attest... ONLY playoff teams should stay in Gold. The bottom 8 from each conference should be demoted. That means all conference (not league) Silver winners would get promoted. They give it a shot for one season, if they fail, hey.. they go back to silver anyway and try to move up again. Most of the teams that don't make it to the playoffs sell the team anyway, this way, they keep it and can go back to Silver and win another cool blue ribbon for being a successful team at a lower level of competition.
