Oh please.....

I had you rated #5 on week 8: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4104297 In addition you won your game against 8 Mile by a score of 38-34. In that game THL ran for 174 yards and 4 TD's on 15 carries.

And Sly, you lost to 8 Mile 76-31. THL ran for 460 yards and 10 TD's in that game. So I am not really sure you have room to talk. For 8 Mile this season, I think a lot of it is going to be dependent on the schedule. If we get some of our easy games early, we should have a shot at the playoffs. I doubt we have a chance to finish higher than 6th.

Oh no-one who knows anything about CCIA would have been likely to make your assessment that I won't have room to talk. That's funny! CCIA had an extremely young roster last season and despite our good builds our players - many in the lower lvl 50s - sadly were vulnerable to being overwhelmed by lvl 70's of older teams that used a very simplistic game plan of trying to overpower their opponents. While our team roster strength was among the lowest in the league, 8 Mile had a very old but solid/average roster. Extended plateau is probably the only reason your team isn't already gutted, but your strategy of going out and signing a hoard of 479 day old players has not only failed to improve your team much this season, but will make the pain next season all the greater. Meanwhile we're a WHOLE LOT better with our roster, though admittedly we still need a few more players.

It's pretty evident the same strategy will be used next season. Here it is: you will run because you will be much worse if you try to pass. So I remain highly skeptical of any significant improvement this season from your team. I admit you could make the playoffs but would have no chance to win and I continue to believe your team will Most likely gut shortly afterwards.

Of course we are going to run the ball. Everyone knew that last season, and they know it this season. Our biggest problem last season was Team Chemistry. This season that issue is going to be more manageable. Next season, it is going to be even better because we will have very little player turnover. All of the players who have hit the plateau have boosted 30+ times, and will receive 120 days (3 more seasons) of play. So no, we will not be gutting next season.

As far as no chance to win goes. Does your team have a chance to win the League, or Conference? No? Then Ipso Facto, you will be gutting? I think not. I have no illusions that we have a 1 way ticket to the WL. All of our "Plateau" players have 3 seasons left in them as they have all boosted 30 or more times. If a player is not working out this season, we can try to sign a better one for next season.

I'll do my whole Pre Season rankings shtick before game 1, but in my mind there are some early favorites; New Jersey, Monmouth, and Chicago, all have very strong teams. KKAR, SOUTH GEORGIA, and New Orleans are also probably playoff bound. That in my mind leaves the 7th and 8th seed open for debate. 1 and done? Probably. Seeds 7-8 are going to be playing against teams that deserve to be in the WL far more than the bottom 3 teams in each WL conference.

This conversation really should be taken to the other thread on league standings.

As far as the Best WR/HB tandem goes? It won't be on 8 Mile. If it were just on HB's a case could be made for THL. IMHO, he is probably the best of the backs who have returned for another season in the USPL. As for backs on teams that were either promoted, or dropped down, that is much more difficult to gauge.

It really won't get that point. The thread is about a WR/HB combo. HB's are easier to rank. WR's are almost impossible to accurately rank. So much of their performance depends on the QB. As long as we stay on topic, there won't be popcorn drama.

I only do that here, because I am cutting down on my posts in any general forum. My post's there have been less than well received. I go off on tangents or have ideas that just do not go over well there. So I cut back there.

Here though, I can put out predictions, and analysis, and give something for people to read. It doesn't even have to be accurate. Oddly enough I am probably 75% accurate, which is enough to give me some credibility. I have pretty much given up trying to change the game. The only thing I bother with now is to try to keep things interesting for people. Hell, If I were right all the time people wouldn't have anything to bitch about, and if I were wrong all the time people wouldn't bother to read my crap.

Anyhow, that is why I post a ton of words. I think that even if people disagree with me, they are at least somewhat entertained by it.

Honestly, my balls need to be busted every once in a while. In the past I have tended to sometimes get all "High and Mighty", with my GLB ideas. In all honesty, I really was hoping that I was opening up an intelligent discourse on particular topics. Instead I usually got a flame fest.

Whatever. I have given up on that sort of thing. Now I just try to make it more fun locally.

There are Forums specifically for "intelligent discourse" if that is what you're looking for in certain instances
