I was wondering for a NT how important is the D-Line General skill point

Every little bit helps and this little bit helps the rest of the d-line. Get a point in it early, or at least when you get out of the D-leagues, and a few more later on.

Any best guesses as to what attribute this is tied to?

Confidence?

Or vision perhaps?

I think it's tied to a little of both Confidence and Vision. It's extremely important for the NT as it helps the entire line out.
