I agree there are teams in gold that do not belong there but that happens every season. I'd rather 10 of those 16 teams give us a real scare than say 1 or 2 (the old way). I think the Gold selection process needs to be revamped and give teams the option of accepting or declining a Gold invite. If a team in Silver 8 wins a championship they should have the option to advance. Some teams are in it to win a trophy reguardless of where they played. After you do win a championship you do lose the hunger so when some teams get to gold they probably don't really care to be a top 3 team in gold, they already won a championship.
Also every pee wee team should have that option in case a runner up is selected. Maybe the runner up team doesn't want to be in gold either. Eventually you will find enough teams to fill 32 team league with teams wanting to be in gold and competeing.

I didn't support gold at first, since my team wasn't that great in seasons 9 and 10, but looking at my season 11 campaign, we didn't have a competitive league game until the championship, which we lost to DSBM.

yea, being in a crap conference suuuucks, and i think that this would just give us a lot of crap conferences (which was why they made gold in the first place, iirc).

I like it, but think a twist is needed.

Have 16 Pee-Wee leagues with 24 team each, 2 divisions of 12. No Gold/Silver/Copper. Have a 12 week season instead of 10. A 4 game playoff structure for each league just like now would crown the 16 league champions by day 31. Then on day 32, start a 16 team tournament where only the winners of each league are invited and seeded based on some factors like record, points allowed, points scored, etc. At the end of day 40, you will have one single team crowned champion of all of Pee-Wee!

How cool would that be? This would also allow for more trophies, current trophy system for the leagues, then an official final 4 and champion/runner-up trophies, all without extra flex points. Of course other tourneys can and will take place, but this will be the only Officially run tourney to crown the Pee-Wee champion.

Yes this means fewer overall Pee-Wee teams, but with so many CPU teams currently and half of all Pee-Wee teams with a lot of CPU players, this will condense the talent pool and make recruiting easier. Plus every single team in Pee-Wee has an equal shot at the championship.

As for what to do each season, use the final 16 team tourney to rank those league champions 1-16 and place them in the league of that number, so Pee-Wee League #1 would always contain the previous season's champion, league #2 has the 2nd place team, etc. The rest of the teams that didn't make the championship tourney are just randomized each season.

One downside is that this new system only guarantees teams a min of 12 meaningful game vs 16 now. But one solution is to have consolidation rounds after teams loose in their playoffs rather than random scrimmages and use those to give a final rank in each division rather than just how teams did in the regular season. The purpose of the regular season is to make sure you are in the top 8 of 12 teams so you make the playoffs, and to try to get the best seeding you can.

This is not something we can do, Bort and crew would have to rewrite how Pee-Wee works, but I think once the bugs are worked out, this would be one fun system! Just the idea that any team can take it all and that there is an official championship tourney at the end of every season would be a ton of fun!!!

Thoughts?

I like this idea I think Gold was fun for awhile, but it's lost its luster. Back in the day you had year in, year out rivalries where you could meet and compete against other owners and make fun of the newbie owners who thought they were gonna come in an be all baddass . This made the tournaments more worthwhile because that was how you tested if you were the best or not.

Now, you have elite owners/gm's retiring and starting over in copper. This makes it more difficult for new team owners to win/compete which was the whole idea of copper to begin with.

It wouldn't be only two competitive games. Sure, a team like you which is in the top 99% would have only two competitive games during the regular season. But the regular season is only have of the GLB season for my proposal (Day 1-21). After the regular you would have the league playoffs of which probably and addition 2 or 3 games would be competitive and then you would have the big peewee tournament of which all 5 would be great games. That is 10 games in a 41 game season that are competitive for your team. But when we look at your average peewee team (which is the group that generally gets catered to) then they could have every single game they play be one that they need to gameplan for.

This plan might not be the best for as I said the top 99% of teams if you are wanting a big game every two days.. but it would certainly help the more casual gold owners and most silver owners and essentially all copper owners that are looking for a fun season.

i agree with this, perhaps you could have a block on agents that have been in copper before?
E.G.
if you have owned a copper team before and play say a couple of seasons and retire your team when you are in silver league and start again in 2 seasons time you will be put into a silver league not a copper league?

im not sure if this is a good idea but i know a few teams that have just started out and ended up with Short Bus and Dharma equivalent teams in there league for copper, if you understand what i mean?

im only recent to the world of pee wee so i dont know about who was or what was back then but i have noticed a continuous amount of unhappiness within the community so clearly something must need to change maybe not drastic changes but something that tells us that GLB is moving forward

Now, it's that agents that have been on gold teams having gold/silver owners/coordinators helping them win peewee. Examples are D13, ^'s team, and others. Soon the same agents will play eachother every game.
