My first player was a DE who didn't have the best base attributes because I had no clue what I was doing (and I still don't lol). He had 10 in wall, strong base, first step, change direction, shed block and 12 in tunnel vision. He could break blocks like crazy and hardly ever got pancaked.

So I figured If I just refined the build a little and had the same thing with higher base attributes then he would be a beast. As I built my next DE I decided to just go the run stopper route with a little extra jumping and a focus on diving tackle plus I could throw in swat ball and towering man and get some deflections.

I'm working on my EQ and I've come across two +3 agility pieces one i turned in a +3 agi +6 str +17 break block piece. I dunno if I should keep my strength = to my agility or str>agi. Should I hold out for a +3 str piece? What goes into the break block roll more str? Or agilty?I could care less about rev cakes sure there nice but if I can just stand my ground and slide off a block to stop a run I'm perfectly happy too.

Where have you been and what happened to all your players? Wall and Strong base suck.... I guess you didn't get to check out the DE builds on Valhalla when they were open. I think the reason my DE could revcake every ot at least once a game was because of wall and strong base.

See that's where people get lost. Do you want a sack specialist, or do you want to revcake? Do you want to get to the quarterback? or do you want do be a run stuffer, a rev caker, a pass rusher, and good at defending the screen? Jack of all trades is a master of none.

I still like AGI > STR. I try to have just enough STR that my guy doesn't get pancaked, and put the rest in AGI. At DL that means ~ 100 strength (with high agility, shed block & BB% aeq). You should be able to get away with less at DE, but I'd say 85 is the minimum to not suck vs the run.
