Problem with Pro-Bowl stuff is everyone will yell about
there guy has the best stats...yadda, yadda, yadda...

Our team (Crimson) is different. We are so balanced we regularly
rotate our starters, so we have almost no players that statistically
you'd go WOW at. We allow 3.7 pts per game which is by far the best
and we play less defensive plays than any other team. But we spread
the plays out. The most plays for any player on our defense is 225.
Yet many of our guys are among easily some of the best in the whole
league, but will never have the stats of some others.

Just something to think about.

lol

As some others have mentioned, I think people will base their choices off stats alone (much like the nfl) and it too will be more of a popularity contest. Teams like Crimson who are rotating players will have those players over looked when perhaps they should make the team. How to fix this.. Im not sure. Its too much to ask everyone to go through all the games to find who they felt were outstanding and not just a product of the system or a supporting cast.

On the flip side.. I would rather have that trophy than be voted to a pro-bowl that really means nothing on GLB.. and Crimson may very well be on their way to that because of how well rounded they are.

As of now, I dont see anyway to control the "popularity contest". If we hold each team to only having a certain amount of players nominated.. some might get assed out. If we force people to pick players from teams that havent played well.. guys will make the team that may not deserve it over others who do.

Its just too much work, and too much to ask of everyone, to go look through all the game film to decide who really deserves it.

So.. I've officially contributed nothing to this discussion.. aside from the fact that I dont know how to attain the perfect system for it. =)

I would say just have a 1st team and 2nd team for each conference. That way a lot of players will get the honor and less ppl will be left to complain lol. I think my LB is pretty good, but I know he won't make either team because of the lack of stats. I don't mind though because honestly I don't know how good he is compared to the other backers in the league. Also any all pro team is going to be skewed. The easiest way to judge performance is stats and sadly there are no stats on glb for taking on FBs or making the extra block that opens up the lane for the TD. I say just vote based on stats and let the ppl who don't make it deal with it.
