Week 4 is here, we will officially be 1/4 the way though our season!

Austin stays atop the leader board. The score wasn't all that impressive in their game, until you look at the 7 turnovers. They were able to play through that adversity, and come out on top. The Hololulu Hurricanes remain in 2nd with an impressive win over New Orleans. New Jersey and Richmond won their games, and remain static. Bratislava lost their game to Richmond, but since I had them in 5th anyway, its not going to affect my ranking of them. WAR MACHINE had a walkover game, which was expected, but I can't really justify moving them up at this time. 7-10 are static. The Blitz moves up to the #11 spot dropping New Orleans to #12. Baton Rouge moves all the way down to #15, and everyone else moves up. The Panthers hold onto the 16th position with an Iron Grip.

Now down to game predictions. I will order the games based on my rankings.

Game 1: Austin Wineswilling Fancy Boys VS SOUTH GEORGIA GROWL.
The GROWL didn't do to well last week against the New Jersey Battalion although they did beat the spread. This week will be even tougher on them, as Austin will continue it's winning ways.

Game prediction: 63 - 7 Austin.

Game 2: Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers VS Bratislava Lambeau Leapers
This is going to be one of the better games to watch this week. Bratislava is coming off a disappointing loss to Richmond, and the Hurricane are trying to find ways to ramp up their offense. Honolulu will win the game, but Bratislava will put in a good showing.

Game Prediction: 48 - 14 Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers.

Game 3: New Jersey Battalion VS Richmond Rebel Yell
This is the game of the week for me. #3 and #4 going at it head to head for the probable 3rd seed. These 2 teams will duke it out and the score will be tight. This game has upset potential written all over it. I think the Battalion will hold the line though and pull out a squeeker of a victory.

Game prediction: 26 - 24 New Jersey.

Game 4: WAR MACHINE VS Ontario Ice Weasels
The Ice Weasels have come out of their hibernation, and put up some impressive offensive numbers against equal level teams. WAR MACHINE is not an equal level team to them though, and their defense just won't hold.

Game prediction: 35 - 13 WAR MACHINE

Game 5: Ketchikan Kamper Adventure Rentals VS Gaines Panthers
KKAR gets the free pass this week.

Game prediction: 215 - 0 Ketchikan Kamper Adventure Rentals

Game 6: Chicago Beasts VS New Orleans Hoodoo Voodoo
New Orleans needs to get a win to get on track, Chicago needs a win to stay on track. At this point in the season they are pretty evenly matched. I am going to go against my own grain though, and call for an upset. New Orleans by 6!

Game prediction: 36 - 30 New Orleans

Game 7: 8 Mile Assault VS Baton Rouge Buccaneers
North VS South, Gangsta VS Pirate... Who will come out on top? 8 Mile desperatly needs a win to keep it's playoff hopes alive and possibly get a leg up if it comes to a tie breaker for the 8th seed, Baton Rouge is still smarting from last weeks loss to the Ice Weasels and want's some payback. Both defenses are suspect so far this season, but when your defense is suspect, 8 Mile will run all over you. I just don't think Baton Rouge can win in a shoot-out (or in this case, and rush-out)

Game prediction: 35 - 17 8 Mile

Game 8: Chicago Blitz VS Corpus Christi Illegal Aliens
This is a tough one to call. Chicago has had some problems putting points on the board, but their defense has been reasonably solid considering who they have played. Corpus Christi has an offense capable of putting up big numbers, but a defense that is a bit suspect. So in this yin yang game, its anything goes. For the 2nd time this week, I am going to call for the "upset". I think Corpus Christi's defense will hold just enough to get the win.

Game prediction: 36 - 33 Corpus Christi.

Lot of good games this week. Lets see how I did!


Game 1: Austin Wineswilling Fancy Boys VS SOUTH GEORGIA GROWL.
Game prediction: 63 - 7 Austin.
Actual: 47 - 6 Austin

Austin has shown one of the best passing games in the Conference, and they put it to good use agaisnt the GROWL, wracking up 405 yards and 3 TD's. Their running game was solid if not great, but put it all together with a stifling defense, and it adds up to a dominating win.

Game 2: Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers VS Bratislava Lambeau Leapers
Game Prediction: 48 - 14 Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers.
Actual 44 - 17

Even with 6 turnovers, the Leapers couldn't keep up with the high powered Honolulu passing game. Big Risks (5 ints), big rewards (422 passing yards). The Leapers again had trouble with their run game managing only 33.5 yards from their backfield, and 138 yards and 2 int's from their passing game just isn't going to cut it against the top teams in our Conference.

Game 3: New Jersey Battalion VS Richmond Rebel Yell
Game prediction: 26 - 24 New Jersey.
Actual:37 - 31 New Jersey

New Jersey was able to get the job done, with a solid performance on offense. Richmond hung in there, but couldn't make up the deficit in the 4th quarter. Someone.... Anyone.... Stop Sir Lollipop Man! That guy is killing defenses.

Game 4: WAR MACHINE VS Ontario Ice Weasels
Game prediction: 35 - 13 WAR MACHINE
Actual: 27 - 21 Ontario

Oh boy... Tex Scram is going to be in my shit tonight. The Ice Weasels gave up on the pass, and just ran, ran, ran their way to victory. Not one pass attempt. And... It worked. They wore down the WAR MACHINE, and took a 6 point lead to the bank for a Win. The Ice Weasels are for real!

Game 5: Ketchikan Kamper Adventure Rentals VS Gaines Panthers
Game prediction: 215 - 0 Ketchikan Kamper Adventure Rentals
Actual: 255 - 0 (325 - 0) KKAR
Sorry KKAR... I shorted you by 110 points. My bad.

Game 6: Chicago Beasts VS New Orleans Hoodoo Voodoo
Game prediction: 36 - 30 New Orleans
Actual: 28 - 3 New Orleans
I called for the upset, and I got the upset. 4 Turnovers from Chicago, (1 fumble returned for a TD on ST's) are hard to overcome for teams so close in talent. New Orleans managed to get a sizable advantage in Time of Possession, and that looks like it payed off as most other game stats were fairly equal.

Game 7: 8 Mile Assault VS Baton Rouge Buccaneers
Game prediction: 35 - 17 8 Mile
Actual 66 - 0 8 Mile
I wasn't expecting this score, not at all. 8 Mile's defense showed up for this game... and they were MAD. I predicted a shoot out, but Baton Rouge brought a small stick to a gun fight, and 8 Mile brought 16 inch guns... with wheels. When you get 581.5 yards rushing, and 6 TD's out of 1 guy, you usually win.

Game 8: Chicago Blitz VS Corpus Christi Illegal Aliens
Game prediction: 36 - 33 Corpus Christi.
Actual: 62 - 20 Corpus Christi
2 for 2 on "upsets" this week. Corpus Christi's offense continues to impress me more and more each week. Their defense held up well, but a 62 point ballanced offensive effort, has to be causing some DC's around the Conference to take note. I don't think I can think of this team as a lower tier team anymore, they are quickly becoming good enough to be a factor in the playoff race. Hats off Christi, that was a great effort!

Well it's another 7-8 week for poor old Cryptotich. I was pretty accurate except for blowing the WAR MACHINE/Ontario game. But the actual scores continue to befuddle me, particularly with the mid level teams. We are defiantly going to have some movers in next weeks rankings.

No problems here. I honestly didn't expect to get the win either. I'm a terrible DC -- my idea of a defensive gameplan is to keep my offense on the field eating up the clock. I'm probably a terrible OC too, seeing how we're usually pretty 1-dimensional on that side of the ball, but I gotta go with what I know.

Great job Tex, you win the rubber match. I was not expecting to win at all, i for one know what that roster has on it.
