peewee and low level minor awards? Ok. A better example would be a punter who was set between 100 and 85 power his whole career:

And I'd say he's somewhere between above average and good in terms of his build.

Last season he was set to more hang time than he'd ever been for one game for fear of the return man, and here was the result:

It's not just about the return man, but about the return team as well. If punting with a lot of hang time is only going to make it easier for the return team to stay in a position to block your coverage team, then I wouldn't bother. I'd take my chances blasting it as far as my punter is capable.

Edit: If your coverage team is better than your opponent's return team, then hang time makes sense, but chances are you're considering hang time to try to contain a special teams unit that is better than yours.

If they ever get STs coverage fixed hopefully it will make hang time matter more. I do like seeing the punt coverage run right past the PR when a punter hits a towering short punt though.
