Gotham (AP) -- There was speculation about the addition of Andrew Hatch to the Gotham Squad, now there is only satisfaction.
The Quarterback 'controversy' was cleared yesterday, in the Gotham City Punisher's 16-13 surprise win over the Atlanta Dirtybirds. In his first pass as a Punisher, new quarterback Andrew Hatch threw a 12 yard pass to Dan Miller, which was returned for a 70 yard touchdown. On the flip side, on Rico Dynamite's first pass of the game, he overthrew Miller, and had his pass intercepted. Coach Dave Sack commented, "Both players will remain Punishers, but it is obvious who will be leading our team to victory this season."
Rico Dynamite was brought to the Punishers when they were the Phoenix Goons, where his talent as a scrambling quarterback was overshadowed by an abysmal, rebuilding season.
Andrew Hatch was brought to the Punishers after a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Lumberjacks, where incumbent Dyanmite had a lackluster, average game.
Gotham City all-time leading receiver Dan Miller had some comments on the QB position. "Andy knows how to get the ball to me. When Rico threw, I kind of had to seek the ball myself. They're both great quarterbacks, and I'm excited about what's to come."
On the defensive side of the victory over Atlanta, J Schmoe was constantly harassing QB Remy Martin, while the defensive backs reaped the rewards of faulty passes thrown to them. CB Bio FREEZE commented, "It's not hard to pick off the passes when a QB is always throwing ducks." Teammate Terrence Lockdon collected a shocking 11 deflected passes, and in the press room, was seen with a knowing smirk. "I feel like I performed well today", Lockdon stated, in an obvious understatement.
Next on Gotham City's schedule is the Riverside Revolution, a talented team who has continued their work from last season as a very disappointing team.
