Hi guys, I was recently looking at the trend of D-Linemen on GLB to switch from being all about Strength or Speed to being pumped on Agility and seeing how well they worked out.

I was wondering, for a Slot WR, would pumping Agility as the primary attribute as opposed to speed be successful? Obviously Speed would not reach 100 over a career, but agility would.

Your thoughts?

well CBs, with the new archetypes should be getting to about 110/100 speed/agility, have 6+ in CD and 80+ vision to boot, so no. i dont think it would work very well. it would maybe work as a possession receiver, but you probably arent going to get enough separation to get any break aways.

a 110 spd / 110 agility guy would prolly work pretty well imo.

i know nothing, but as a possession i do like it with decent speed... granted maybe not on the highest levels... and im still not sure about the new system... but ive liked what ive seen from catch fake, it with juke, super elusive... there is a combo that might well work

I tried, but Had to swap EQ over to SPD just to be productive. But with CEQ still in AGI he has 87 AGI with 100 SPD, so it's not bad at all, but I wish SPD wasn't so important so I could actually experiment, but he does pretty well as is, and end game projection will have him sitting ~110 SPD and ~92 AGI, and the more I add to vision and CAR the more he'll fake, and he already fakes a decent bit right now with nothing more than 4 points in juke.

I haven't seen a WR with a near even split between spd/agi that was very successful. The closest one to be successful in my experience was at 90/120+...nevertheless, i have seen WRs with similar attributes fail as well. If there was more emphasis on agility when cutting or starting from a stop in the SIM, then it would have a better shot at working.

As of now, agility for WRs seems to work best with a minimalist approach. You use the very least that your WR can get away with (varies from WR to WR in my experience) and put all the rest of your EQ in speed. Until it has a more drastic impact on the effectiveness of speed, it only seems to help WRs that have a heavy investment in fakes.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=349269&playoffs=0 was an even split guy his entire career, with the vast majority of his production being in USAPro vs non-guts.

WR 1/3 the whole way, though he converted to a tackle breaking WR2 his final year with good success.
